AccommodationBlenheim and Picton offer a good selection of accommodation for business events and conventions. VenuesThe region’s largest conference venue is the Marlborough Convention Centre. Located on the banks of the Taylor River in Blenheim, this modern venue can host up to 560 people in theatre layout or up to 400 for a banquet event.

By mid-2015, Marlborough will have a new venue, the ASB Theatre, located next to the Marlborough Convention Centre. This multi-purpose venue will have tiered seating in its theatre for 720 people as well as multiple break out rooms.

Marlborough is situated at the northeast of the South Island. It is close to the geographical centre of New Zealand and therefore easily accessible by land, sea and air. Once in Marlborough, getting around the compact townships of Blenheim and Picton is easy. Most hotels are a short walk or coach ride from conference venues in the middle of town. Other transport options in Marlborough include taxis, shuttles and rental cars. Bike hire and cycle tours are available for those who want to explore the region’s many vineyards.

By airVisitors flying to Marlborough land at Marlborough Airport, 7km from the centre of Blenheim. The 10 minute drive into town can be taken by taxi, shuttle or rental car. International visitors can arrange connecting flights to Marlborough through New Zealand’s major international gateway cities of Auckland and Christchurch, or via the capital city of Wellington. Domestic flights to and from many New Zealand destinations can be booked through Air New Zealand.

By seaFor those who want to arrive by water, the port town of Picton can be accessed by ferry on a scenic three-hour sailing from Wellington. Interislander and Bluebridge are the two ferry companies that can transport passengers and vehicles across the Cook Strait between Wellington and Picton.

By railBetween October and April the Coastal Pacific train provides access to both Picton and Blenheim from Christchurch, 350km to the south.

By roadDriving from Christchurch takes approximately 4 hours and from Nelson approximately 2 hours. There are also numerous bus and coach companies travelling between Christchurch, Kaikoura and Nelson.

We are based in Picton, only 25 minutes from Blenheim, and can cater to either Blenheim, Picton or Sounds based meetings.
