Welcome back for another fabulous Saturday Market. June is here and the summer season is underway. This is the time when Saturday Market hits its stride.
Next weekend is the Board Election! There are three seats opening up and you have four candidates running. Please read the Candidate Statements and reach out to the candidates. These are the future voices of the membership, so make sure you get to know these individuals before voting. Candidate Statements are available at the Information Booth. You can absentee vote if you know you won’t be at the June 9th market.
We are starting a new Volunteer of the Month recognition program. If you know someone who has worked hard for the benefit of the market, please send us an email at [email protected] and nominate them. We will publish the winner’s name each month in the newsletter. This is a great way to thank the many volunteers that make the market successful and achieve its goals.
We are always looking for MVP Message submissions and would love to hear from you. Please consider writing an article that you think would benefit the membership. It can be anything from words of wisdom to marketing tools and techniques. There is a lot of market experience out there and we would love to have you share it with everyone!
Enjoy your day and do something kind for someone else. You’ll appreciate the feeling and they will appreciate the kindness.

Booth weights are required for pop-up booths and strongly recommended for metal pole and wooden frame booths. There are canvas booth weight bags available at the Info Booth at the low price of $10 each. They are not filled, you’ll have to do that yourself, it can be done for $5 or less at Lane Forest Products.
Office Closed TuesdayThe Saturday Market office will be closed
this upcoming Tuesday, May 29th to ob-serve Memorial Day. We will be back on Wednesday, May 30th from 10am-4pm. Have a fun and safe Memorial Day Weekend!
Holiday Market 2017 BalancesThis is a friendly reminder to anyone with
an outstanding balance from last year's Holi-day Market to make your last payment. Your 2017 balance must be paid in full by June to book a space for this year. Contact the office if you need to set up a payment plan. Holi-day Market 2018 booking is coming up fast.
Community CornerHello! There are so many great happenings
and events scheduled downtown for the sum-mer, and I’m excited to see and experience all the music, food and fun they have in store. Here is a list of things to look forward to:
June 4-8: Human Foosball at the Park Blocks- The EUGfun! Team will be hosting lunchtime tournaments, 11:30am-1:30pm Monday - Thursday, and evening tourna-ments Monday-Friday, 4-8pm. Food, Beer and Cider will be available for purchase.
June 5th: The Campbell Center is offering a free Tai Chi class held in the West Park Blocks starting next Tuesday, June 5th. Every Tues-day and Thursday morning from 9-10am.
Tuesday Farmers Market, every Tues-day, 10am-3pm, East Park Blocks. Want a mellower opportunity to go get those fresh veggies and beautiful hand-crafted items? Stop by Tuesday Market! Stay tuned for more info on Tuesday Mar-ket Family Days, starting on June 26th!
June 8th and 9th: Honk! Fest 6/8/18, 5:30pm-10pm in Kesey Square, 6/9 in the Whitaker neighborhood. HONK! Festivals are a part of a global renaissance of community street band culture. Funky, radical marching bands representing diverse musical influenc-es play at street level, dissolving the line be-tween crowd and performers, and co-creating the passion and joy of Mardi Gras and Carnival.

Fentress Endowment AwardOur wonderful Saturday Market is proud
to announce our organization's selection as the winner of the 2018 Fentress Endow-ment Award presented at The Arts & Business Alliance of Eugene's BRAVA Breakfast. This award, established by Carroll D. and Harriet Fentress in 1984, is given annually to a local arts organization for exceptional work and achievement in the arts. We were selected by a committee of local artists and community leaders. The committee chose our organiza-tion to recognize the important role the mar-ket has played in our community as a venue for local artists, crafts people and performers.The Eugene Saturday Market was well repre-sented at the annual BRAVA Breakfast held at the Hult Center on June 1st. Our Board of Di-rectors and staff were present, and our Board Vice-Chair Willa Bauman accepted the award on behalf of our organization. We are hon-ored to receive this award for our community of artists as an acknowledgment of 49 years of contribution to the local arts in Eugene.

by Wednesday to get your point in time for the next Saturday. Also remember that after 30 days a $5 late fee is added to your owing, and after 60 days another $5 fee is added for a total of $10.
