Twitter 201 | What to Tweet?

First things first- who am I supposed to be talking to

on Twitter?

• Isolate your top list of potential recruits (Brokers) or clients (Executives)• Follow them on Twitter• Be sure to “like” and comment on their “Tweets” throughout

the week• Be consistent and be yourself!• Show your personality- soft sell• Target them in your posts…

Determine Your Target Audience

• Inman News• Real Estate Magazine• REALTOR® Magazine• Other Realty Executives Offices• Your local competitors• Industry bloggers• Local news stations (partner up and @tag them)• Realty Executives International!

Companies to Follow

• What does that key audience want to read?

• Great place for live feeds– Local real estate events– Community events– National conferences and

conventions– Realty Executives events

What to post?

• Photos (via instagram, Facebook or Twitpic)• Brief status updates (no longer than a

sentence or two)• Professional but still fun!• Use your own voice- humor is always

welcome in this platform• Be sure to keep personal opinions from

ruining your company’s reputation (back to having one social media manager- cant’ stress this enough)

What to post?

• Politically correct• Customer service

– Keep an eye out for #realtyexecutivesyour office

• Can be a format for complaints– Turn it around, make it a positive– Delete negative comments OR even

better, comment back with a kind note from “customer service” or “management”

– Executives- watch out for the use of your name

– Broker/Owners- follow all your Executives

Be advised

• Share links from news sources • Host educational events and do

a live twitter feed for key recruits/clients that couldn’t attend• Ask a poignant real estate

question and give a prize to the first person that answers correctly

Be a resource!

• Original posts– What’s going on in your office

• ReTweets– From the media– From the industry– From Realty Executives offices

• Photos– Closed sales (Brokers)– New Executives (Executives)
