The Hangover Part III

A huge media campaign was released prior to the films release in order to notify the existing fans of the hangover trilogy ‘the next chapter’ was about to be released.

Many of the fans had waited in anticipation for the first trailer to be released and when a second was released revealing new footage it sucked them even more into the trilogy as they were eager to find out what happened next...

• Here you can see both of these trailers are very similar but they each show different insights into the film. This is often done to get the audience to watch them as they think the second trailer may contain new shots from the film.

• Both of these trailers reflect a similar type of construction to the previous ones in the trilogy, the same template is used to satisfy the existing fans as they are likely to want something similar to the Hangover 1 and 2.

Posters

• Another form of media used in a marketing campaign is posters.

• Often many posters are used which use a similar layout and they all use similar features such as tag lines and titles.

• Here the hangover part 3 has over 18 posters, they all are very similar and only the images change on each one.

Games & AppsThere is only one official game that has been released for the hangover part 3 movie where you

have to get the giraffe to duck under any bridges (a scene from the movie)

Social Networking Sites

Here you can see the Facebook and Twitter pages for the Hangover Part III, both of them post pictures and quotes from the film and people can comment or tweet to them what they think of the film. Many films have a social networking page as people spend a lot of time on them, also the target age group for this film will be the main users of these websites so the media campaign are advertising in places people are most likely to see the promotion.

The Website

Almost every film will now have a official website for it where people can find out about the film, look at photos and information about the cast as well as find out where the film is showing in nearby cinemas. These websites are always advertised at the end of trailers shown and especially on the TV.
