My Teacher, Let Me See Again Mark 10: 46 - 52

What do you think when you see people begging at the side of the road? Do you even look at them or do you try to look somewhere else?

Sometimes homeless people say that what makes them happiest is just for people to smile at them or to tell them, “Hi!” They say that they feel invisible to most people.

Of course, we still need to be careful about talking to strangers, but smiles are pretty safe!

Can you imagine what it would have been like if Jesus had just ignored everyone when he was walking around?

What if he had ignored the sick people, the homeless people, and the hurt people? What do you think we would have learned about God’s love, then?

One day, a blind man named Bartimaeus called out to Jesus as he walked by. Bartimaeus said, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.” When Jesus asked what he wanted, Bartimaeus said that he wanted to see again.

Sometimes, when people on the street ask us for stuff, we just walk away. What do you think Jesus did when Bartimaeus told him this?

What would you have done if you were Jesus?
