Abstract
The aim of this paper was to assess the psychometric properTes of the Italian translaTon of the Flow State Scale – FSS (Jackson & Marsh, 1996). Usually, this quesTonnaire is used to assess the Flow State in sports, but it could be applied also in other fields and during several acTviTes. The sample of 461 athletes was recruited from several sport acTviTes, such as football, horse riding, fencing, gliding, golf, paragliding, volleyball, rugby and
freeride. The results related to the validity and internal consistency were saTsfactory and the factor model was made up of a main factor and nine dimensions. The correlaTons between the EmoTonal QuoTent scales and the Flow dimensions are highlighted. This study supports the acceptability of the factor structure of the Italian version of the FSS, similar to the original one, and future applicaTons are expected to confirm these results.
