    LocationTe Marino Institute of Education Residence is ideally located, combining the convenienceof proximity to the city centre and Dublin airport with the peaceful, beautifully landscapedand spacious grounds of the college campus. Students wishing to explore Dublin can availthemselves of the regular and convenient bus service, No 123, which operates from outside theInstitute gates on Griffith Avenue right into the heart of the city in approximately 10 minutes.

    From Dublin Airport to the Residence

    Te Marino Institute of Education is less than 9KM from Dublin International Airport andtransfers to and from the airport take approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Unlessaccompanied by an adult, students under 18 must book and pay for transfers on arrivaland departure.

    Public Transport

    Bus routes 41 & 41B go to the city centre from the airport, via the Swords Road.

    Directions: Get off the bus at the Regency Hotel, walk down the Swords Road, and take thenext left onto Griffith Avenue. Continue until you reach Charlemont Estate, turn left into theestate and Marino Institute of Education is on your right. Te walk from the bus stopshould take approximately ten minutes.

    Facilities on Campus

    RestaurantA large modern on-site, self-service restaurant offers students a variety of hot and cold mealsserved daily. Junior students on a full-board basis will be given breakfast, hot lunch and dinnerdaily. Packed lunches are available at the weekends on request. Adult students can choose afull-board option at an additional cost.

    Te restaurant is self-service and provides a range of excellent options and choices forstudents. Students will receive a timetable for their breakfast, lunch and dinner on arrival.

    We can cater for students with special dietary requirements once they inform us at thetime of booking.

    Laundry Facilities & Linen

    Students can use the on-site laundry facilities and all machines are coin operated costingapproximately 5 for a wash and dry. Washing detergents are not included but can bepurchased in the local supermarkets/shops.

    Linen and towels are provided for students and are changed on a weekly basis.

    Te Marino Campus provides excellent facilities for students for their activities after class.Tese facilities include:

    Junior Summer Residential Programmes (June - August)

    Summer courses for juniors at the Emerald Cultural Institute are lively and enjoyable combiningexpert English language tuition with a daily programme of fun and interesting activities. OurMulti-Activity programme includes an English language programme and a full range of extracurricular activities and cultural visits. Students with a passion for sport can choose from arange of programmes offering English tuition plus training from professional coaches in rugby,soccer, tennis, horse-riding or golf.

    Mini-Stay Residential Programmes (September-May)

    Our Mini-Stay Programme is offered from September to May and is designed for school groups

    or closed groups of young students aged between 12 and 17. Te programme combines expertlanguage tuition with an optional programme of interesting and lively extra curricular activitiessuitable for this age group.

    General and Practical Information

    Medical Information:All students studying in Ireland should obtain appropriate medical insurance in their owncountry before departure. Students travelling from EU countries should bring their European

    Health Insurance with them. Non-EU students should bring a copy of their insurance policywith them when travelling.

    Our on-site team will be happy to assist with making the arrangements for students whorequire medical attention. Students should cover the cost of transport if required for anymedical visits.

    Deposits and Damages:A deposit of 50 is charged to all students and is payable on arrival. Te deposit will berefunded provided that no damage has been caused. In the event that a student causesdamage to property we will deduct the cost of the damages from the total amount. Te Institutereserves the right to recover the cost for exceptional cleaning.

    Smoking/Alcohol/Illegal Substances:Smoking is prohibited in all apartments and campus buildings. Students caught smoking in theapartments or campus buildings can be subject to expulsion as they have breached the firesafety regulations of the campus.

    Health and Safety:As part of their welcome orientation students and group leaders are required to attend abriefing on the Safety regulations. Te briefing includes an introduction to life on the campus,security of personal property and fire safety. Because of the importance of fire safety

    attendance is compulsory.

    Group leaders and students will also receive details of First Aid procedures, which they shouldfollow in the event of an accident.

    Key Cards:Electronic Key cards are provided to each student and these cards will be required to accesstheir apartments. Students will be charged for the replacement of lost or broken keys.

    Emerald Student Identity Card:All students are issued with an Emerald Cultural Institute student ID card on their arrival.Students should carry their student ID with them at all times and may be asked to produce thecard by the security or residential staff.

    Safety:We advise all students not to carry large amounts of cash, ID or travel documents on theirperson during their stay. Students are advised to store valuables, passports or ID s in the safeprovided on campus.

    Student Supervision:Our team of residential managers/supervisors and our Activity leaders are there to provide thehighest level of service to our students during their stay. Our students welfare is a priority onall our programmes and our staff are there to ensure that students enjoy every aspect of theirstay with us.

    In their orientation students meet the staff that will assist them during their stay andaccompany them on their activities.

    Security and Assistance on Campus:Security personnel monitor the campus on a 24-hour basis. During office hours studentsand group leaders can go to the Emerald Cultural Institute office and our Centre Manager orresidential team will be happy to assist you. Between the hours of 11PM and 8AM students/group leaders can call our 24-hour number and our night-time supervisors will be able to help.

    Cleaning:Apartments have one full clean with change of linen and one mini-clean per week. Apartmentsare fully serviced between occupancies. Te cleaning staff collect rubbish regularly during

    the week.

    Discipline and Breach of Conduct:If students behaviour or conduct is unsatisfactory or in breach of the school regulations, theywill be subject to the Schools disciplinary procedures. A serious breach of conduct may resultin expulsion.
