Brief history: She was born not knowing her father, and her mother suffered with psychological problems which made it hard to raise Norma.

She spent a lot of her childhood in foster homes and orphanages. When in 1942 she married her neighbour. When her husband went overseas she got a job at a radio plane munitions factory, whereby a photographer came across her when capturing pictures of women that were contributing to war. She started her modelling career and started taking acting

classes. In 1946 when her husband returned he had an ultimatum between him and pursuing her career in acting; they divorced. Soon after she signed her first studio contract with 20th century fox, she was paid $125 dollars a week, and received a new name and a complete new image/character. She soon turned into the blonde bombshell of the 50’s. She married again, to a retired baseball legend, but divorced in October 1954 due to the vents on the subway that

blew her dress up, her husband was furious. In 1955 she wanted to become a serious actress.

She returned to Hollywood starting her own film company. She found happiness away from studio by marrying again in 1956. She was in major films such as ‘Some like it hot’ which expanded her fan

base immensely. After 5 years 1961 she divorced yet again due to personal issues, also the Misfits her final box office film which was a disappointment. In 1962, 36 year old ‘Marilyn Monroe’ was found dead in her Brentwood home with a bottle of sleeping tablets beside her. Since her death, various sex symbols have come and go, but no one has ever compared to the iconic Marilyn. She transformed the 60’s.
