The ta lk isgenera l sma l l ta l k and covers top i cs l i ke g i r l s , food and o therpeop le ,The t ransc r i p t in th i s fo r rn (espec ia l l y the f i r s t 28 n inu tes ) becarnepossib le on ly af ter making ny own copy of the or ig ina l CVR' in a wayin which l -ow frequency noise could be reduced, but low frequencyvoice energy could be boosted. This was necessary because extensiveanalys is of the tape revealed that the previous copies of the CVRtape do no t con ta in su f f i c i en t . low f requency in fo rmat ion fo runderstanding speech under these adverse condi t ions. Fron th is newcopy of the CVR ape short (over lapping) segments of about 28 secondseach were d ig i ta l i sed and t rans fe r red in to a compu te r . In thecomputer three sets of specia l d ig i ta l f i l ters were used to processthe sound in order to reduce the rnost t roublesorne noise conponents,wi thout af fect ing the speech. The speech was t 'hen t ransferred fromthe computer back to a rnagnet i c aud io tape , s t i l I i n the sho r t(over lapping ) segrments.
