-winning play The Vagina Monologues
were staged in Auditorium on March
19&20. The play is based on interviews
with more than 200 women. With humor
and grace the piece celebrates women’s
sexuality and strength.
This year’s performance was directed by
HRSI’s Program Coordinator Simona
Gamonte.
To promote the event and raise addi-
tional funds for our beneficiary,
HaNEM, The Vagina Monologues cast
has backed several dozens of vagina

In April, HRSI launched a call for vol-
unteers for new tutoring programs in
Imre Madach Secondary School.
CEU volunteers had a chance to partici-
pate in the following programs: Conver-
sations/Presentations in English, English
Coaching Program and Hispanic Stud-
ies Program.
These activities are part of the Student
Community Engagement Program, pro-
moting links between the CEU and local
community. At the moment, HRSI co-
operates with 3 different schools in Bu-
dapest, offering six different programs.

Refugees are welcome On weekends, CEU opens its spaces for the computer courses organized by MigHelp for migrants and refugees
Every weekend around 20 refugees from
Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Iran
and other countries are coming to CEU,
equipped with their own computers, to
learn a bit of computer sciences to be-
come more successful on the job market.
The computer course is organized by
MigHelp, a grassroots organization aim-
ing to help migrants and refugees.

bers of the CEU community participated

nized by HRSI in collaboration with

tion, we launched a photo campaign
“Take your blindfold off, dear Europe!”
CEU community was invited to take
pictures in the Laptop area and show
their support to Romani people.
The campaign was inspired by the mani-
festo written by contemporary Romani
artists from around Europe who wanted
to stand up for real change and wanted
to encourage fellow Europeans to en-
gage into a deeper understanding of
Romani people, through being open to
their lives and their art by setting aside
superficial perceptions.

On March 28th, over 20 students and
young professionals from local NGOs
participated in one-day course on Fund-
raising with our regular trainer Noemi
Ambrus.
On April 21&22 we were pleased to
welcome at CEU Paolo de Renzio, Sen-
ior Research Fellow at the International
Budget Partnership in Washington, who
compiled a two-day workshop on Gov-
ernmental Budgeting and Human
Rights. This event was prepared in col-
laboration with SPP.
With logistical and promotional support
from HRSI, students organized several
events on April 23&24, including in-
fotable, documentary screening and visit
to the Armenian memorial, located near
Petőfi tér.
It is estimated, that between one and 1,5
million Armenians died as a result of
deliberate violence organized by Turkish
government. Officially, Ankara still
does not recognize those events as geno-
cide.
CEU Environmental and Sustainability
Officer, supports the course logistically
and institutionally. The ECDL computer
course started in April and is expected
to end in August.
