What is an Apprenticeship Program?
•Paid training system that produces highly skilled workers in various technical crafts (Machining, Welding, etc.).
•Training is offered through a combination of on-the-job, hands-on technical training and classroom instruction.

Apprentice Program at Alstom Power
• There are four registered apprentice crafts in the Alstom Power Apprentice Program: Machinist, Welder, Winder, Blader.
• Each craft within the Alstom Power Apprenticeship Program utilizes dedicated trainers with 20+ years of experience in the craft.
• Each Alstom Power apprenticeship lasts for 3 or 4 years, depending on craft.
• Apprentices are brought in as groups, or classes, with each class size usually being 4 or more apprentices of the same craft.
Alstom Power Apprenticeship Program
• Each craft within the Alstom Power Apprenticeship Program directly relates to the work we do every day in our workshop facility.
• All college classes that are required for the program are taken at John Tyler Community College and are sponsored by Alstom Power.
• Significant additional training is provided, including team-building and professional skills development.
