Dear BES parents,

As part of our PTO's annual Walk-A-Thon fundraiser, our committee approaches local businesses to sponsor our event and therefore support our school and our children’s education. Their corporate sponsorship buys advertising on our t-shirts and in all Walk-A-Thon communications, and in turn, enables us to provide each and every child with a Walk-A-Thon t-shirt regardless of donation amount. This year, we would like to ask you to consider reaching out to your employer for their sponsorship or if you are a business owner, to consider a sponsorship. If you or your employer would be interested in supporting your student and our school, either through a corporate sponsorship or through an "employee donation match" program, please refer to our sponsorship letter (http://bit.ly/BES_Sponsorship) which includes all the details of the various sponsorship levels. The deadline for advertising as a sponsor is April 10. Any employee donation matching is due May 1.

As an additional incentive for you, your student will receive additional raffle tickets for a sponsorship or employee match (5 tickets for $100 or 25 tickets for $500) therefore increasing the odds of winning raffle items. Last year we raffled off Reds tickets, Kings Island tickets, and our top prize was an iPad Mini!

We are reaching out to our biggest and most valuable resource in the school - our parents. There are so many companies that offer community donations and support local schools, it’s simply a matter of submitting our sponsorship letter. Companies known to match employee donations include: Duke Energy Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, General Electric, LexisNexis, Macy’s Foundation, Merrill Lynch, PNC Bank Foundation, Prudential Foundation, US Bank.

The Walk-A-Thon is our PTO’s only direct fundraiser and a successful Walk-A-Thon keeps our school’s fundraising efforts to a minimum. Annually, the PTO spends approximately $40 per student, providing programs such as COSI on Wheels, Schoolhouse Symphony, and Author Visits, combined with vital resources for our school such as mini-grants and Chromebooks utilized for newly required State testing.

The next few years are going to bring many additional changes to our BES community. We are striving to make this Walk-A-Thon extremely successful so we can be as prepared as possible as we embark on this new journey of a new building and all the needs that come with this exciting but major change. Our PTO needs your help to be poised and ready to support our principal, teachers, and staff so that our children can have the very BESt elementary school years possible.

Thank you for your consideration and assistance in making our Walk-A-Thon a great success!

Please contact Tricia O’Rourke 513-505-9370 ([email protected]) or Angie Busemeyer 513-266-535 ([email protected]) for corporate sponsorship questions.
