Good day Salina Country Club,

Finally, March. Let's get the cold, wind, ice, snow, and everything

else behind us and get this club warmed up. We were thrilled to

start the month with some better weather and a tee sheet that has

reservations up and down it.

March is one of our final main planning months. We are working

diligently on getting kid's programming activities scheduled for the

year, tournament schedules finalized, working on course

conditions, and creating some of our menus for the upcoming

holidays. As we continue to plan and work out the details, make

sure you are referencing the calendar on the website to plan your

months in advance. In addition to this, we are beginning to hire for

Lifeguards and Snack Bar attendants as well.

Robert and his team are near finishing up the fitness center hallway from the parking lot access. A

huge thanks to him and Austin for elevating this space as you remember, it looked more like an

"employee only" area. Once the paint smell settles, you should be able to walk through and smell

Wanda's weekly fresh florals. The flooring in this space will be one of the last items to be installed as

they intend to give the entry corridor a face lift as well.

At the end of March, you may notice some construction vehicles on site as we are slated for March

23rd to begin repairing the slide. The scope of this project includes changing a portion of the bolts,

refinishing and sealing the slide's fiberglass, as well as a brand new paint job. I have no doubt that

once complete, this may be one of the fastest slides in town!

We've had some great success with our membership drive over the last couple months. You may

have seen some of the new promotions released via social media. In two months, we've gained

over 70 new members across the categories. You can expect to see a new member mix and

mingle at some point as we want all of our tenured members to have the opportunity to network

with some of our new additions. It is great to see some new members as well as some that left in the

past return. If you haven't been up to the club lately for dinner or brunch, stop in, as everyday

someone new is walking through the door and there are a range of new faces. To those of you that

have joined recently, thank you and welcome to Salina Country Club. We are thrilled to have you

as members.

As always, thank you all for being such great members. 2019-2020 has been an exciting start with a

range of changes and enhancements. We are ecstatic to be approaching the spring and summer

months to really see our club in action. Again, we are here for you so please don't hesitate to reach

out with anything you notice or would like to see or even just general feedback.

Johnny’s Specials

This month join us in the restaurants for a

variety of dinner specials!

On March 7th, you can celebrate Mardi

Gras with jambalaya and beignets.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Club

with dinner specials and green beer!

Don’t forget to make your dinner

reservations for Passport Series: Chile on

March 19th.

We have an active schedule planned for SCC members this

season. There are some new events and some changes to

traditional ones. Be sure to check out the SCC website and our

SCC Golf Weekly email for all the exciting events coming this

season. The tournament calendar is available on the website, as

well as all golf related information. We will also have printed

versions available in the Pro Shop. The golf season will kick off with

our first Men’s Open Night golf and dinner on March 26th and

much, much more to follow.

Men’s sign up will begin March 1st and play will begin in April.

Rosters and league rules are available in the Pro Shop. If you

would like to play in league and are not yet on a roster please

call us. We always have teams looking for players. The Men’s

League Stag night will be on April 1st, show up to enjoy a fun night

of food and drink!

Beginning on April 4th and every Saturday in April, we will be doing our Free Women’s Clinics

beginning at 4:00 p.m. If you want to come out and get some instruction on every aspect of the

game do not hesitate to show up!

The unlimited cart program renewal begins April 1st. If you are not currently taking advantage of

the unlimited cart program but would like to, please notify the Pro Shop prior to April 1. If you are

currently enrolled in the program, your contract will automatically renew unless you notify the Pro

Shop that you would like to be removed.

We are very excited for a fun and active 2020 season!

Ace in the Hole

March is here and hopefully the weather cooperates more this

month so we can finish the fairway project. We are behind

schedule due to the moisture we had last month. I am still

confident we will finish in the next couple weeks.

The good thing about the moisture is that the sod we are cutting

lays down great with little patch work. The last time we had this

type of moisture in the sod was when we worked on #14. I wish

we could control when the rain/snow comes but I will not

complain too much.

This month is when we typically start to see the course green up

which is a very exciting time for the golf course. The mowing

season is right around the corner and you will see some of the

mowers out this month mowing off the tops of the grass even though the growth is still slow this time

of year, but it is starting to grow.

The days are finally getting longer which is really what triggers the trees, turf, and the golfers. The

crew and I are excited to see everyone out enjoying the fruits of all the winter work. We have

removed many trees and cleaned up many overgrown areas on the course to help playability as

well as the health of the turf. I will keep everyone updated with emails as the projects continue so

you are informed.

I appreciate your patience with the weather and our projects and we will try to cause too much of

an inconvenience for you.

Hello Salina Country Club!

We have had yet another month begin with beautiful weather. It

is exciting to see everyone taking advantage of the weather on

the golf course and enjoying the Upper Deck patio.

Between the Junior Sponsor and Spring into SCC promotions, we

have gained over 70 new members in the past few months! It is

definitely an exciting time to be at Salina Country Club.

This month we kick things off with a Mardi Gras night in the

restaurants on March 7th. We will have St. Patrick’s Day specials

on March 18th and another great Passport Series on March 19th.

Make sure to join us for the New Member Mix & Mingle on March

28th where new members and current members can network and get to know each other!
