IMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE, GHAZIABAD, organized its

7th

Convocation on March 09, 2013

IMS Engineering College organized its Seventh Convocation on 9th

March, 2013, at IMSEC auditorium. Convocation was inaugurated by Dr.

R. K. Khandel, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Gautam Buddh Technical

University, Lucknow. In total 499 Graduates and Post-Graduates of

different branches received degrees. Shri Jitin Prasada, Honourable

Union Minister of State, HRD, Government of India and Shri U. S.

Tomer, Honourable Registrar, Gautam Buddh Technical University,

Lucknow, were the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively in

this auspicious occasion.

The Fifth Alumni Meet was held on 9th March, 2013, at IMSEC

campus. A large number of old students participated with great lan and

zeal and shared their invaluable views with the students. Here are some

Another feather in IMSEC cap

As one of its social initiatives, IMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE

inaugurated its monthly newspaper IMS Today on 9th March, 2013.

Through IMS Today, IMSEC aims at making academic awareness among

all the colleges, students and academicians of NCR. The newspaper was

inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri Teluram Kamboj, Mayor, Ghaziabad

and the Guest of Honour Shri U. S. Tomer, Registrar of GBTU, Lucknow.

Copies of the first issue of the newspaper were distributed among all the

guests present in the auditorium of IMSEC. Eminent personalities of

Ghaziabad were also present in the event and everyone congratulated

Shri Rakesh Chariya, Honourable Vice Chairman, IMS Engineering

College & IMS Society, for his exemplary vision.

MECH FAIR 2013

Mechedge, a society of Mechanical Engineering students of IMSEC,

organized the Mechfair 2013, the annual fest of Mechanical Engineering

students, on March 16, 2013. The event was graced by the presence of

faculty members and HODs of all departments of IMSEC. Students of all

branches actively participated in events like Bridge Formation, Paper

Presentation (Views), Autocad, Quiz,etc.. Dr. Gagan Varshney, Dean,

Students Welfare, awarded the prizes and certificates to the winners of

the Technical Events.

ECE department successfully organized tech-fest, SPANDAN 2K13

on 16th March, 2013.

IMSEC cricket team finished as runner-up in the Inter College Cricket

Tournament at ITS, Mohan Nagar.

Pallavi Gupta got her paper titled Professionalism published in

The Criterion: An International Journal in English, Issue 12, February,

2013.

Vinita Chauhan got her paper titled Performance Evaluation of

TCP Congestion Control variants using Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance

Vector Routing published in Springers-LNEE proceedings of Fourth

International Conference on Networks & Communications (NETCOM-

2012), held in Chennai, India.

Students Achievements

Crackers at Genesis13, organized by KIET, Noida.

Om Prakash Yadav presented his paper titled "Support Vector

Machine based Bearing Fault Detection on Induction motor" in RDCAPE,

on February 21, 2013, at Amity University, Noida.

Prof. V.K. Saini got his paper titled "Optimization of Wire Electric

Discharge Machining of Composite material (Al6061/SiCp) using Taguchi

method" published in International Journal of Mechanical and

Production Engineering (IJMPE), Vol.-2, Issue-1, 2013.

Mr. Praveen Kumar, Assistant Professor, got his paper titled

Current Controlled Differential Difference Current Conveyor

Transconductance Amplifier and Its Application as Wave Active Filter

published in Hindawi Publishing Corporations ISRN Electronics,

Volume 2013, Article ID 968749.

Mr. Abhishek Sharma, Assistant Professor, got his paper titled

UWB Technology for Wireless Communication Network selected in

National Conference on Electronics, Communication and Information

System (ECIS 3).

IMSEC - MBA 2nd Year students visited Dubai & Sharjah in the last

week of March, 2013, in a college funded 6 day educational trip. They,

apart from familiarizing themselves with the dynamics of a city, visited

Faraway Shipping and Logistics and Krishna International, a 1.6 billion

dollar group. The students also had the opportunity to meet Mr. Prakash

Goenka, the Group CEO, Mr. Pankaj Jain, the CFO, and Mr. Abhishek

Kejriwal, the Chief Procurement Officer.

At Faraway Shipping, they were welcomed by Mr. Ali Zhang, the

Transport Manager, and spent a good amount of time with Mr. Suraj

Gautam, the Director. The students were also able to visit various tourist

places and got a first hand experience of the wonders of Dubai like Dune

Bashing in a Toyota Landcruiser, An evening in an authentic Arabian

Desert Camp, Dhow Cruise with Dinner, a Visit to the Business Districts

and Knowledge City in Dubai. They also visited the palace of the SHEIKH

MOHAMMED BIN RASHID AL MAKTOUM. The Students also had the

opportunity to drive across Palm Jumeirah, the largest man-made island

in the world.
