March 19 NoCoRHA Panelists Christie Mathews, Director, University Housing Projects & Outreach Christie Mathews is Director of University Housing Projects & Outreach in Housing & Dining Services at Colorado State University where she is responsible to cultivate new housing construction and renovations which support the student experience, needs, retention and success through the living environment. In this new role, Christie is partnering with colleagues across Housing & Dining Services and the University to ensure all new construction and renovations remain focused on the student experience. Christie is also responsible for outreach to campus, PSD, City and County resources in support of the students and their families living on campus. Christie has 20 years of experience with Housing & Dining Services. She served as Director of Apartment Life for 13 years. Christie has extensive experience with housing operations and new construction. Christie was an integral part of the leadership team responsible for the design and construction of the Aggie Village apartments which opened on campus in the fall of 2016 and is a member of the Leadership Team on development of Meridian Village. Christie received her Masters of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Colorado State University in 2017. Marcella Eppsteiner, Vice President, Marketing, Mission Rock Residential As Vice President of Marketing at Denver-based Mission Rock Residential, Marcella oversees both the quality and accuracy of the portfolio’s branding and digital footprint. This includes 108 communities with approximately 25,000 units in 14 states where she and her team oversee each community’s property website, paid advertising, search engine optimization and management, Google PPC, reputation management, social media, and leveraging market data and trends to customize each community’s marketing strategy. Her and her team’s efforts ensure accurate brand representation and enhanced online customer experience while securing cost-effective efforts. Marcella joined Mission Rock Residential in 2012, at the company’s start (she is employee #8!), as Director of Sales and Marketing. The MRR portfolio has grown from zero communities to over 100 in just 6 years. Marcella brings 15 years industry experience, where she began onsite as a leasing consultant and developed into the property manager role. She then moved into corporate marketing experience as a marketing assistant and from there she continues to evolve. Marcella is an active member of AAMD, NAA, and IREM Denver Chapter, as well as an Advisory Board member for AIM, Apartment Innovation and Marketing, one of our industries top marketing conferences. She is graduate of Florida State University and attended St. Thomas University, in Miami, FL for her Master’s of Business Administration.

Matt Lafferty, Principal Planner of Advanced Planning, Larimer County Matt Lafferty is the Principal Planner of Advanced Planning in the Larimer County Community Development Department. His 22 years with Larimer County focused primarily on Current Planning activities. However, shifts in the Community Development Department have resulted in a change of focus for Matt, who is now working on long range plans for the County. Current activity he is working on include project management for the re-draft of the Larimer County Comprehensive Plan, preparation of short-term rental and oil and gas regulations, and soon the re-draft of the Larimer County Land Use Code.
