The purpose of this instructional PowerPoint is to show the students how to recognize basic map symbols to be able to read a map.

Given images of maps and instructional links, students will be able to identify shapes of Tennessee in the United States and the Americas on maps and globes with 90% accuracy.

Look at the first picture, it shows the shape of the United States.

Now look at the second picture, it shows the shape of Tennessee.

Can you find that shape in the outline of the United States?

After you paint Tennessee, Lets paint The entire United states together.

In the last website we are only going to label North America and South America.
