Characteristics

• Various species, Green Manzanita common on East side, White Manzanita more common on West side

• Evergreen shrub up to 6’ tall• Often confused with snowbrush• Small leaves round and often leathery• Pinkish, white flowers• Red to mahogany bark

Ecology

• Found on dry well drained sites exposed to the sun in the mountains

• Good cover for many species of mammals and birds

• Good browse for Mule deer and Elk

• Often grows in thickets

• Often mixed with Snowbrush
