Many BIDOYNG units installed

~ 250 Reclose operations after faults

> 80%customer supplies

restored successfully

They said it would never fit there...

but it did!

Design of BIDOYNG means it fits in 90% of UK substations

but there are always exceptions...

“Fitting to an open indoor board will be easy”

words I may have uttered once

These stalks are part of an indoorLV fuse board. Check out the U shapedobstruction around the feeder stalk!!!

Fuse panels, layout, enclosures at LV substations vary greatly.

We created a solution for the obstructed stalks, at the same time solving a problem

for installation of REZAP

Kelvatek Web

Very successful for managing LV faults, notifications of fault events & reclose operations, and shows necessary BIDOYNG fuse replacements

Also has a button for access to power quality data

And we should get a nice data plot like this:

Dense data, taken every minute

Stockport produced over 22M data points in first month

Kelvatek Web data plotting slowed, and slowed, then stopped

Voltage and current are sampled at 51.2kHz (1024 samples per cycle)

Transients are recorded, along with pre-fault data, on all 3 phases

3 phase data is fed to SELF - Single Ended Location of Faults

Example SELF Algorithm result : Malwood Road Substation

Fault was arcing P-P, P-P-N, 3P & 3P-N

5 transient events recorded over 3 days

SELF Calculated a maximum distance of 99m

Fault located at 90m

Accuracy > 90 %

Short term outputs:

- Continued development of fault location algorithm

- Fault location available to all field staff

- Ease of access for power quality data

- Fast interactive data presentation
