Who We areThe Public Research Centre Henri Tudor is an independent applied research centre located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Since it was established in 1987, CRP Henri Tudor has been focusing on business innovation, with the goal of making a significant contribution to increasing the competitiveness of Luxembourg industry and of its partners throughout the world. In order to achieve this goal, we collaborate actively with the manufacturing sector, most notably in the fields of advanced materials and environmental technologies, but also in the area of organisation and management science. This multidisciplinary approach is one of our primary assets: our teams are comprised of chemists, physicists, environmental engineers and experts in industrial systems and technology watch. Through our MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY innovation programme, we mobilise our skills in a cross-disciplinary manner in order to propose global solutions that meet the requirements of the manufacturing industry.

our aimThe MANUFACTURINGINDUSTRY innovation programme aims to respond to the market challenges facing the manufacturing industry, which can be grouped around three main areas:

• Industry-specific factors, such as cost reduction, improving the cost-benefit ratio, reducing delays for product delivery and marketing, as well as identifying new client needs and market niches;

• Mega trends such as urbanisation, the common market and the increasing demand for natural resources;

• The continuous evolution of normative and legislative landscapes, especially regarding environmental aspects and the marketing of chemical products.

What We proposeIn order to respond to these industrial needs, we have developed an innovation programme that addresses the following topics in a cross-disciplinary manner:

• New functional and intelligent materials

• Analysis, testing and validation of materials

• Eco-design, Life-Cycle Analysis of products and processes

• Energy optimisation and renewable energies

• Optimisation of procedures and processes; economic intelligence

• Integration of normative and legislative constraints

The activities of this programme encompass contractual and collaborative research projects, innovation services and products as well as scientific support for national policies and their implementation by manufacturers.
