1-2. PROGRAMMING
Automatic and manual programming are available.
Automatic programming presets up to 8 receivable _ channels automatically from the lowest frequency. With
manual programming up to 8 active channels can be preset
in any desired sequence.

1 Depress ©.
2 Press PRESET (ON) to set the TV in the programming standby mode. The programme number indicator will
blink.
3 Press AUTO PROGRAMME. Automatic programming will start to tune in 8 receivable channels in sequence. When no more station can be
located, automatic programming will stop. The
programming mode will be released automatically.
MANUAL PROGRAMMING
1 Depress ©.
2 Press PRESET (ON) to set the TV in the programming
standby mode. The programme number indicator will blink.
3 Press PROGR +/— or programme number button on the Commander to select the programme position when a
channel is to be tuned in: + for a higher-numbered position, and — for a lower-numbered position.
4 Press MANUALIFINE + or -. The first channel found will appear. Every time you pess MANUALIFINE +, a higher-numbered channel will be tuned in and every time you press MANUAL/FINE -,a
- lower-numbered channel will be tuned in. Repeat
pressing until the desired channel is found.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all desired channels.
5 Press PRESET (OFF).
¢ To reset the TV to the lowest frequency of the band, peess CLEAR when PRESET is set to ON.

operate the TV in everyday use.

Operation 1 Depress © to turn on the TV.
2 Pointing the head of the Commander towards the remote control detector on the TV, select the TV
programme in either of two ways:
¢ Press the programme number buttons.
¢Press PROGR + or -. |
3 Adjust the volume by pressing = + or —: + for more
volume and — for less volume.
To turn off the TV completely, press © on the TV. To set the TV in the standby mode, press (©) on the
Commander.
To mute the sound immediately, press 45] .
Press it again to restore the sound.
PICTURE ADJUSTMENTS
Press Q: + to increase picture contrast or — to decraase it.
Press @: + for more colour intensity or — for less cohur
intensity.
Turn <2 clockwise for more brightness or counterclec kwise for less brightness. Turn) to stabilize the picture if it rolls vertically. CD (vertical hold) contro!

Preparation:
@ Feed in the white pattern.
© Before starting, degauss the entire screen.

Turn on set power supply and receive an all-
white signal.
Evenly degauss the entire screen.
Loosen the deflection yoke mounting screw,
and set the purity control to the centre as
shown in Figure 3-1.
Set BKG VR @ to maximum and set @ and
© to minimum.
Move the deflection yoke back, and adjust the ©
purity control so that @ is in the centre and
© and @ are at the sides, evenly. (Figure
3-2.)
Move the deflection yoke forward so that the
entire screen is red.
* If the deflection yoke is pushed all the way
to the CRT then moved slightly back,
landing adjustment is easier.
Substitute @ , then @ for @ in step 4
and check landing. |
Rotate @ , © and @ once each and check
landing.
When landing is not right, adjust: the purity
control and use magnets as shown in Figure
3-3, then repeat steps 7 and 8 .
When a magnet is used, be sure to perform.

3-2, CONVERGENCE
Preparation:
Before starting, perform FOCUS, H.SIZE, V.SIZE
and V.LIN adjustments.
Tum BRIGHTNESS control fully counterclock-
wise and PICTURE control to normal. |
Feed in the dot pattem.
(1) Horizontal and Vertical Static Convergence —

. Adjust H.STAT VR to coincide red, green and
blue dots on the centre of screen (Horizontal
movement)
. Adjust V.STAT magnet to coincide red, green and
blue dots on the centre of screen (Vertical move-
ment) | |
. If the red, green and blue dots do not coincide on
the centre of screen with H.STAT VR, perform
horizontal convergence adjustment using H.STAT
VR and V.STAT magnet as shown below. (In this
case, H.STAT VR and V.STAT magnet effect.

Tilt the V.STAT magnet and adjust static con-
vergence to open or close the V.STAT magnet.
4. When the V.STAT magnet is moved in the direc-
tion of arrow (a) and , Red. Green and Blue dots move as shown below.

Move BMC magnet (a) to correct insufficient
