The function of the lighted push-buttons is as following: DELETE REPEAT- DOUBLE

BET x 10 BET The bets are placed using the following procedure. By pressing the field in the custom keyboard the field is opened. Blinking square cursor on CRT monitor marks the open field. Pressing the BET or BETx10 button places bets. The value of the bet and bet limit varies depending on the field type. The default bets value and maximum bet value is 5 and 95 and 1 and 30 on simple fields and all other fields respectively. These values can be changed, see Play station set-up chapter of this manual. Repeat function repeats the bets from the previous game. Repeat is enabled, as long as no bets are placed (or, which is the same, the REPEAT button is the first button pressed after the initiation of the new game). After that the button has the function of doubling bets - each time the button is pressed, the bets are doubled, up to the available credit and up to the individual field an overall bet limit. Delete button has also two functions. When pressed immediately after the REPEAT, it deletes repetition - whole board, otherwise deletes the bet on the open field.

POWER ON PROCEDURE

The Alfastreet 8K roulette machine is switched on by: ? turning main power switch to the position 1 The complete power on phase takes approx. 30 seconds. The power-on phases are displayed in the status window of the control monitor. The meanings of the phases are explained in the chapter 7 of this manual. In the initialisation phase the self-test of the machine is performed and the results are displayed on the control display, as illustrated in fig 2. After the successful initialisation, the AlfaStreet roulette 8K is ready and can function automatically without any intervention of the operator, except credits entrance and payout, which has to be done by the chaser. Before switch off, the roulette has to be properly shut down (see command OFF in the menu GAME). Switching off without the shutdown procedure causes an abnormal shutdown and should be avoided. As a result, the flash disk of the roulette may be damaged.

MESSAGES

During the operation of the Alfastreet roulette, various messages are displayed on the screen. Some of them are self-explained, so only messages that require additional explanation are listed below. IRREGULAR END: UPDATE The alfastret roulette was irregularly switched off while the bets are still allowed. All bets end credits on stations will be restored and the game will continue where interrupted. IRREGULAR END: NEW NUMBER The alfastreet was irregularly switched off while the bets are closed and roulette has not yet read new winning number. All bets end credits on stations will be restored and the game will continue with bets stopped and ball ejection. IRREGULAR END: SENDING SCORE The alfastreet was irregularly switched off while the bets are closed and roulette has read new winning number, but the score was not yet updated. All bets end credits on stations will be restored and the game will continue where interrupted. WAITING FOR NEW NUMBER The main computer tries to read new number. If it can not read number in the required interval, error message will be displayed and the game will be stopped. SENSOR ERROR During the reading of the new number the error occurred, probably caused by misalignment of the inductive sensors under the roulette wheel. The computer repeats the reading until the reading is successful or until the time-out occurs. In the last case the error message is displayed. DEAD SATELLITE The station does not respond to the commands. In most cases this means that the station was switched off. If so, simply switch the station on. If the station is switch on but does not respond to the main computer, reset the station.

Page 27: Manual Del Usuario Alfa Street RK8

A L F A S T R E E T R O U L E T T E - u s e r s m a n u a l 2 7

ERROR BALL IN ROULETTE The ball was detected in roulette wheel while bets are still open. Bets will be immediately stopped. This message is caused by too short ball eject time (in SET menu) or by an error in the eject mechanism. CHECK BALL POSITION The computer tries to detect the ball at the eject position. If it is not detected, it assumes that the ball is still in the roulette wheel and tries to send the ball at the eject position. After three unsuccessful attempts it assumes, that the eject position sensor is not functional and tries to eject ball anyway. If the ball is not there and not ejected, this will later cause error in reading new number. STOP GAME IN PROGRESS.. The roulette stop was requested by selecting command STOP in GAME menu. The machine will stop when there will be no bets on any board. GAME STOPPED This message means that the game has stopped as the result of STOP command. When the roulette stops due to error situation, an error message is displayed.

ERROR MESSAGES

Error messages are displayed similar to the ordinary message, except that the message is blinking and message cause roulette machine and roulette wheel to stop. When we removed the cause of the error or if the error is not critical, the game can be continued with CONT command in GAME menu. NO RESTORE FILE The machine state is continuously saved at the RESTORE file, allowing restoring the game wherever and whenever it is interrupted. This message means that the computer is not able to locate RESTORE file and therefore the game will continue, as it would not be interrupted. Counters with CREDIT IN, CREDIT OUT and PROFIT will be set to 0.

Page 28: Manual Del Usuario Alfa Street RK8

A L F A S T R E E T R O U L E T T E - u s e r s m a n u a l 2 8

RESTORE FILE CORRUPTED Restore file is present, but it is corrupted. The game will continue, as it would not be interrupted. Counters with CREDIT IN, CREDIT OUT and PROFIT will be reset also. CAN'T READ NUMBER The computer was not able to read the winning number in the requited time interval. Inductive sensor misalignment or unsuccessful ball ejection may cause this error. DEAD CONTROL BOARD The control board does not respond. Switch off the roulette and restart the system. CAN'T EJECT BALL The eject mechanism cannot eject ball. The error is caused either by malfunction of the eject compressor or by the malfunction of the inductive sensor, that detect the presence of the ball in the eject position. DATA INTEGRITY ERROR The roulette is constantly checking the integrity of the data, which are transferred between the stations and the main computer. Data integrity error message can be cleared only by resetting score in menu SYSTEM.

PLAYING GAMES

Objective

The game of Roulette is played by spinning a small ball on a round wheel with thirty-seven numbered slots. When the wheel stops, the ball comes to rest in one of these slots. The object of Roulette is to correctly predict the slot in which the ball will land. By predicting the right number, you earn a payoff on your bet. The size of the payoff depends on how the bet was placed. The playboard and bets are displayed on upper half of the CRT monitor. The lower part of the screen contains information about the credit value, bets value, payoff value and history of the past winning numbers. Lower part of the screen (blue ribbon) contains system information such as playboard number, selected language, bankomat status, game phase and test data. An example of the screen display is presented in Fig. 5. Buttons location is illustrated in Fig. 3.

Limitations

Bets on the playboard are limited according to the settings of the machine. Alfastreet 8K has two limits – limits on each section of the playboard and overall bet limit. The payer can bet as long as it has enough credit and the bets are below the limits.

Bets

The payer can place up to nine different kinds of bets on the Roulette table. Each type of bet covers a certain range of numbers, and each type has its own payoff rate. The short lines of three numbers each are called rows on the board, while the longer lines, each holding twelve, are called columns. The first six types of bets are all made on the numbered space or on the lines between them and are called inside bets, while the last three types are made on the special boxes below and to the right of the board and are called outside bets.

Straight Up: Place your chips directly on any single number (including zero and double-zero.) Split Bet: Place your chips on the line between any two numbers. Street Bet: Place your chips at the end of any row of numbers. A street bet covers three numbers Corner Bet: Place your chips at the corner where four numbers meet. All four numbers are covered. Five Bet: This bet can be made in only one place and covers five number: zero, double zero, one, two and three. Line Bet: Place your chips at the end of two rows at the intersection between them. A line bet covers all the numbers in either row, for a total of six. Column Bet: Placing a chip in one of the boxes marked "2 to 1" at the end of the columns covers all the numbers in that column, a total of twelve. (Neither the zero nor the double zero are covered by any of the columns.) Dozen Bet: Placing a chip in one of the three boxes marked "1st 12," "2nd 12," or "3rd 12" covers those twelve numbers.
