Happy Midterms Everyone!
We want to start off by congratulating Dr. Lynn Pifer for receiving the Outstanding
Teaching Award, Dr. Kristen Long for Outstanding Academic Advisor, and Ms. Nichole
Lefelhoc on Spring 2020 Employee of the Year. Well done to you all!
Retrenchment and Integration continue to be major points of discussion between the
Administration and Local APSCUF. The Deloitte consultants’ report should go before
the Board of Governors in mid-October. It is not clear yet what the impact will be at
the ground level. As you have probably heard, this is now an Integration of Mansfield
with Bloomsburg and Lock Haven. There is the potential to save some of our smaller
programs (including mine), but also the possibility for job loss among faculty, staff, and
non-represented employees. If you have not done so, request a copy of the Seniority
List from your Department Chair. Verify its contents and make sure that your Dean has
an up-to-date copy of your vita and a list of other classes on campus for which you feel
you are minimally qualified. A reminder that retirements and faculty-sharing also play
into this game.
A heads-up that there will be a special election coming up to elect a couple of members
to the University Promotion Committee. If you are a tenured member of a currently
non-represented department, please think about running!
Finally, I ask you all to vote in this year’s election. Democracy only works if people
participate.

Executive Committee on your recent promotion!
APSCUF MASK DONATION: On behalf of APSCUF faculty, coaches, and
staff, $100 worth of "APSCUF" masks were distributed locally to local Tioga
County residents who couldn't afford a quality mask. Mayor Mike Detweiler
volunteered to distribute the masks to those who utilize the Mansfield food
bank, located on Route 6. The food bank has "been nothing but helpful to
locals during this pandemic"; thus, they were a great organization to donate
APSCUF masks. All the masks found a home. Additionally, university staff
received a mask in their campus mailbox. APSCUF appreciates all of
Mansfield University staff's hard work and dedication, wishing everyone a
safe and healthy semester.

NEW: BJs WHOLESALE Full dues-paying APSCUF/APSCURF members can save up to $60 on a new membership and up to $30 on member-ship renewals through APSCUF’s exclusive offer which is not available in stores. Full details and a membership appli-cation form are available in the members-only benefits area.

VEHICLE PRICING PROGRAM (NEW AND USED) Any full dues-paying member of APSCUF/APSCURF may contact membership services to obtain pricing information for new and used vehicles. State APSCUF maintains current software from N.A.D.A. The new vehicles software pro-vides MSRP and invoice prices on almost all new models and factory-installed options. The used vehicle pricing sys-tem provides different levels of pricing such as trade-in, loan, and retail for vehicles based on the year, model, and some options and mileage.
DISCOUNT MAGAZINE PROGRAM The Quality School Program (QSP) has been taken over by Great American Opportunities. Pricing and subscription information is updated on APSCUF’s website in the members-only benefits section. Members can order subscriptions via mail or online.
THEME PARK DISCOUNTS Discount tickets for national and state amusement parks are available through the Working Advantage program in the members-only benefits section. Members that are interest-ed in this service can check it out in the members-only benefits section. A hard copy of the coupon discount must be printed out and presented when picking up your vehicle. Additional discounts are available at Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty through the Working Advantage program.
WIRELESS PHONE DISCOUNT PROGRAM APSCUF members can enjoy an 18 percent discount off their current or new Verizon Wireless account. Discount ap-plies to accounts costing more than $34.99 a month. State APSCUF Calls for Publications: State APSCUF would like to continue to fill their large
conference room shelves in Harrisburg with publications of faculty and coaches. Recordings made
by an individual APSCUF member or a group (s) that a faculty member directs or conducts or other
creative works are also collected.
This is an on-going campaign that not only enhances the room but also reflect in some measurer the
academic quality of our faculty and coaches. Letters of appreciation will be sent to acknowledge
each gift.
