WELCOME TOMANSFIELD 10K

From Reach Learning DisabilityThank you for signing up to take part in the Mansfield 10K on Sunday 21st August!

We are very proud to be organising the Mansfield 10K for the second year and are delighted to see the event growing.

This year there are a lot of people to thank who have been very supportive in allowing this to happen and providing that all important sponsorship: McDonalds (main event sponsor), Mansfield District Council, Slimming World, Mansfield Building Society and Full Phat Design. Thank you all for your support.

Of course, we could not have brought the event back this year without the support of all of you and are thrilled to see so many of you taking the plunge and getting behind your local event for the second year.

As a charity we are hoping that many of you will be aiming to raise sponsorship by taking part in this event.

Every penny will be spent on providing opportunities to people with learning disabilities in the local area.

If you have donated or are raising sponsorship then we’d like to thank you very much and promise you that your money will make a difference.

We hope that you enjoy your run and tell all of your friends about the race so we can have even more of you on the start line in 2017.

From Perfect MotionDear Participants,

We’re thrilled to be working on this event with Reach Learning Disability once again - bringing back the event that Mansfield can be proud of.

There are a vast number of road closures in place for the event to provide you with a safe, traffic free course.

However, as always, please be cautious and observant when running and obey any instructions given to you by the marshals on course. They are there for your safety and to ensure you enjoy the best possible running experience.

With this in mind, we strongly discourage the wearing of music devices and earphones for the event so that you are able to hear marshal’s instructions.

Other than that, good luck and have a great run!

Nik EmmondsRace Director, Perfect Motion

KEY INFORMATION

Schedule Of The Day

Before You ArriveThe only thing you need to do before the event is prepare yourself and your kit for the race. Make a note of the car parking options available to you later on in this information pack and plan your journey accordingly based on the access times.

Getting There & Car ParkingThe information point is located in the Four Seasons Shopping Centre. The postcode for the Four Seasons is NG18 1SU.

The closest car parks not enclosed within the inner circle, which will be closed for the event, are the threecouncil car parks situated on Nottingham Road, Grove Street and at Water Meadows. These are Pay andDisplay and cost 70p an hour to park. There are also two privately owned car parks accessed off Nottingham Road. These are also Pay and Display but cost £2 for the day.

Simply follow directions from event staff and stewards’ to the Market Place for the warm up and then to the start line before the race. KEY INFORMATION

ToiletsToilets will be available free of charge in the Four Seasons Shopping Centre between 8-9am, please note that after this time they will return to the usual charges. There are also multiple public toilets located around the town centre should you not wish to head back to the shopping centre.

Your RunThe route you will be taking is fully closed to traffic and within the inner circle of Mansfield town centre. As such you will have the opportunity to run on roads that wouldn’t normally be open to runners. Even though you are predominantly on tarmac, please keep an eye on your surroundings, particularly when running in the middle of a crowd. There may be some areas where the tarmac isn’t as smooth and there are some items of street furniture on various sections of the route that need to be avoided.

Please keep in mind that the race is two laps of the course, so pay particular attention to the marshalinstructions as you approach the split point on Midworth Street.

Listen to the instructions of the marshals and follow the signs and you’ll have a very enjoyable race.

FinishYou will finish by running down Market Street into the Market Place. You’ll enter a finish channel lined with barriers before passing under the gantry. Please don’t stop directly after the finish line as it poses a hazard to people finishing behind you. Keep moving through and collect your medal.

PhotographyThere will be a commercial photography company capturing you in action during the race. You will be able to purchase your photos as a memento after the event. Details will be sent to you in the post event email.

Whether you’re into racing, pacing, trotting or chatting (while you run of course!) there’s a group for you. Our aim is to get the ladies of the county up and running, you’re never too old, too large, too busy, too nervous to run; our members are a testament to that.
