Afterschool Buddy, Inc. is a full-service, multimedia production company and future home of the exciting "Adventures with Afterschool Buddy & the Gang®". We saw a need for fresh, new, innovative children's programming to inspire the next generation to greater heights. Our mission is to provide television programs, internet content, live stage shows, music & books that educate and entertain children everywhere with important life lessons that continue long after the school day is over. With a global outlook and a quest to show every child the world, Afterschool Buddy® and our beloved "family" of Manny Cat®, Aunt Junk®, Jake Poodles™, and The Rainbow Kids® are ready to launch more amazing adventures in 2011. We will showcase multi-cultural diversity, teach important lessons about the environment, show children how to respect themselves and others, teach health & wellness tips, and show children how to care for those wonderful companions--our pets. Afterschool Buddy, Inc. was founded by Susan Brozek Scott, an award-winning, 30 year veteran of television, radio, print and web. Her TV career spans 4 states and 5 television stations including WPXI-TV and WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, PA, WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC, WTRF-TV in Wheeling, WV, and WTOV-TV in Steubenville, OH. Susan has been a TV News Reporter, News Anchor, Talk Show Host, Senior Programming Producer, Parade Producer, Talk Show Creator/Producer, and she has produced hundreds of commercials, corporate videos, biographical videos and music videos for satisfied clients for three decades.

DENNIS BOWMAN

Dennis Bowman is now seen full-time at KDKA delivering the weather on the morning and noon newscasts. Dennis is a native of Kansas City, Missouri, graduating from Southwest High School there. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Northwest Missouri State University and later earned his meteorology certification through Mississippi State University. What transpired was a 35-year television weather career that took Dennis to KODE-TV, Joplin, Missouri, KQ-TV, St. Joseph, Missouri, WTVW-TV, Evansville, Indiana, WSTM-TV, Syracuse, New York, WPXI-TV, Pittsburgh, PA, and WIBW-TV, Topeka, Kansas. Along the way, he dealt with a variety of weather challenges including tornado outbreaks, microbursts, intense lake effect snow events, coastal nor ‘easter blizzards and devastating river and flash flood situations. This has provided a broad base of weather knowledge for Dennis to work from and to share with others. Throughout his broadcast career, Dennis Bowman has been a dedicated public servant. In 1986, he became the first broadcaster in Pennsylvania to receive the National Weather Service’s Public Service Award. He received this honor again in 1997 for special reports dedicated to severe weather safety. As a versatile television personality, Dennis has filled many other roles apart from weather forecasting. In Syracuse, he hosted “Bowling for Dollars” and a daily children’s program “The STM Club.” He emceed the Miss Syracuse and Miss New York Pageants, 1983-1985. The first woman he crowned was a 20-year-old named Vanessa Williams. An accomplished ventriloquist, Dennis has been in demand for thousands of entertainment ventures from educational school assemblies to AARP meetings, civic and church functions, fairs, festivals and corporate seminars. The parents of two grown daughters, Dennis and his wife Debbie make their home in Bellevue. Dennis is accredited by the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He holds the esteemed Seals of Approval from both organizations for his broadcasts.

DAN KUNIAK

Master illusionist and mind reader DAN KUNIAK will leave your audience breathless and crying with laughter! March Magic! ™ A Musical, Magical Celebration for Kids is the first in what we at Afterschool Buddy, Inc. and our colleagues hope will be a new era of new partnerships in children’s multimedia programming. We believe when you begin to pull resources and innovative, hard-working people together, the result will indeed be MAGIC. Did you know this is not the first time tonight’s performers have teamed up to create a unique program to entertain an audience? In 1996, Susan Brozek Scott, Dennis Bowman and Dan Kuniak all worked together to produce an award-winning, hour-long television special called “The Ghosts of Pittsburgh” for Pittsburgh’s NBC affiliate, WPXI. With Susan writing and producing, Dennis as an on-camera reporter, and Dan handling ghostly graphics and “supernatural” special effects, they and their TV team created a memorable, magical program that won the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Award for Best Documentary in PA in 1997. Now, 15 years later, by pulling together their individual acts and talents and weaving them into a live, two-hour stage show, they hope to build a template for a magical, annual event that will continue to grow and delight children and audiences of all ages for decades.
