daughter during her time at MIHSG.

REVISION FOR UNIT 8

AND UNIT 9.

EXAM PRACTICE

Pupils will be revising the topics covered for Unit 8 and will be

sitting their Unit 9 exam in May. Pupils will recap on their data-

base, spreadsheet and PowerPoint skills alongside their skills

for formatting word documents. Pupils will sit their Unit 9

exam and complete the set tasks in the exam paper. Pupils will

then print off all their assessment work ready for submission.

Pupils will be working through the BCS CGP work books and

text books to help them revise in preparation for the Unit 8

June exam.

Living Islam is a subject where pupils put

into practice what they have learnt about

Islam and become active Muslim citizens.

Throughout the year pupils take part in

various chosen projects to help different

services, from the elderly to homeless and

animal shelters. Pupils are expected to

carry out activities outside of school and

later on in life.

Pupils to memorise their part of surah in Arabic with English

translation and continue their part of recitation with correct

tajweed rules. Also learning the tafseer of designated surahs.

The girls continue to study Tafseer (meaning) of the surah, they

discuss the meaning, the lessons learnt and have the opportuni-

ty to present their own understanding.

Pupils by now have learnt tajweed rules and must apply them in

all parts of their recitation.

Assessment overview

Assessment will be through a one-and-a-half hour

examination. The examination will be divided into four

sections and students will be expected to choose one

of the two questions set on each section, ie four

questions in total. Each question is sub-divided into

four parts structured on an incline of difficulty.

Religious Studies papers are designed to give access to

the full range of grades and are not tiered.

Quality of Written Communication will be assessed

through Assessment Objective 1 in part c) of each

question.

Up to 4 marks will be awarded for Spelling,

Punctuation and Grammar

(SPaG).

Pupils will have an exam after completing every

section and inshaAllah pupils will be sitting their GCSE

exam this term.
