Are you getting the most out of our website? We endeavour to provide useful, up-to-date information on the Academy website and each week we will feature an aspect of it in this weekly newsletter.

This week - Year 11 Past Revision Papers

Remember: We have a collection of past exam papers for Year 11s to use for revision. These can be accessed on the main school website under ‘Parent, Carers and Students’ where you will see ‘Information for Students’. Here you will find a tab for ’Year 11 Past Revision Papers’ which takes you to a page of links for past exam papers for all subject areas.

Please encourage your Year 11 child to make the most of this valuable resource in preparation for their exams.

What’s my Read? What’s my Read? Each week we will share a review

of a book which a student or member of staff is currently reading.

This week…

A Year 7 student reviews ‘The Vampire Academy’ series, by

Richelle Mead.

The series, which is made up of six main books as well as several short stories, is about a community of vampires and half-human/ half-vampires (dhampirs) and how they differ from human society. The series is from the point of Rose Hathaway, a seventeen year old dhampir who is in training to become a guardian. The book is about a massive group of dhampirs who protect the living, magic-wielding vampires - the moroi, from the evil, immortal vampires - the strigoi.

Rose is met by all sorts of obstacles through the series such as falling in love with her instructor.

You instantly fall in love with the characters, which means you stay 100% invested in the lives the author is portraying.

I recommend the series to everyone, especially those who enjoy novels that contain lots of comedy, romance, fantasy and a little bit of horror.

A group of year 7 students will be selling badges for 50p today to raise money for the Red Cross. We will let you know how much was raised in the next newsletter.
