Managing a Workforce in the MEATraining session1 March 2016, Dubai
Event
IntroductionAs the MEA region continues to become an increasingly important player in the world economy, employers continue to flock to the region. For many of those employers, including local organisations, the labour laws across the MEA region can seem very complex. The issues posed by large migrant workforces, the varying approaches to end of service gratuity and strict nationalisation can all cause issues for employers.
Join Clyde & Co as we deliver a one-day seminar, together with lawyers operating in each of the jurisdictions featured, which will guide attendees through the key points arising under the labour laws of the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt and Kenya.
TopicsThis comprehensive seminar will cover, amongst other topics, the following key aspects of effectively managing a workforce in the MEA region:
– Workforce nationalisation - the duty to employ nationals.
– End of service gratuity and schemes in lieu.
– MEA nationals’ entitlement to state pension schemes.
– Minimum terms and conditions of employment - notice, probation, working hours, overtime pay, etc.
– Termination of employment and potential compensation.
