Sa mga nakalipas na buwan, sinubok ang tatag ng Rotaract Manila Metro at sa

pagsubok na iyon, tila wala nang ibang paraan pa kung hindi ang sumuko at

umayaw. Ngunit patuloy ang paniniwala at pagtitiwala ng mga bumubuo ng

samahan, hindi hadlang ang anumang pagsubok upang sumuko at umayaw. Ang

mga taong walang sawang tumulong at nagbahagi ng suporta para

maisakatuparan ang MANA PO ang nagpatunay na hindi pa tapos ang laban.

Ang MANA PO ay bunga ng ilang buwang pag-iisip, kulitan, tawanan, at

pagsasakripisyo ng oras at panahon upang makapaghandog kami ng isang di

matatawarang palabas. Ang lahat ng ito ay para sa katuparan ng pangarap ng

mga bata sa Gawad Kalinga Alapan, Imus, Cavite. Ang dulang ito ay hindi lamang

puro katatawanan bagkus ito ay maghahatid din ng aral mula sa iba’t ibang

mga bata sa Gawad Kalinga Alapan, Imus, Cavite. Ang dulang ito ay hindi lamang

RAC Manila METRO, I would like to congratulate the club for having such

Pasko sa Buwan ng Abril, The Lesson, American Dream, Kumbersasyon at Mana Po. Ilan sa

mga pagtatanghal sa entablado na naging bahagi ako bilang aktor, manunulat at direktor.

Pero sa pagkakataong ito, may karagdagang saya at pagmamalaki ang pagiging bahagi ko

ng produksyong ito. Ang Mana Po ay hindi lang basta isang pagtatanghal kasama ang mga

aktor kundi pagtatangahal kasama ang aking mga dating mag-aaral, kaibigan at kasama sa

Rotaract. Kung ihahambing sa paborito kong siopao, espesyal ito! Minsan mo lang

matitikman pero sigurado akong mahirap makalimutan. Matapos mong mapanood ang

aming pagtatanghal sana ay napatawa ka namin….o kahit napangiti man lang. Sana ay may

isang aral kang nakuha na pwede mong maikuwento sa kahit na sinong kakilala mo.

Ilang taon na ako sa Rotaract at sa aking palagay, ang Rotaract Club of Manila Metro ang

unang sumabak sa ganitong larangan. Marahil, marami ang napaisip kung kakayanin nga

na mapaganda ang buong produksyon.

Isang pasasalamat ang nais kong iparating sa mga sponsors, mga kaibigan, na nagtiwala sa

amin. Ang lahat ng inyong tulong ay para sa SIKAP Project ng RAC MM. Isang

pagpapatunay na kabahagi namin kayo sa pagbuo ng mga pangarap ng mga batang

magaaral ng Gawad Kalinga Community sa Alapan Imus Cavite.

Ang MANAMANAMANAMANA POPOPOPO ay bunga ng isang taong antisipasyon, ilang buwang

paghahanda, ilang linggong pamimiga ng talento at oras, ilang araw na

pangungulit at hindi mabilang na minutong pakikipag-talo, tawanan at pag-

bibigayan. Hindi malilimutan ang sakripisyo ng bawat miyembro, ng bawat cast

at lalong-lalo na ang iginugol ng mga masigasig na taga-suporta ng Rotaract

Club of Manila Metro, taos-puso ang pasasalamat ng Rotaract Club of Manila

Metro. Marahil madaming rason upang tanggapin ang kahinaan at tuluyang

sumuko, subalit ang mga ganitong pagkakataon—kung saan nasusubok hindi

lamang ang talento kung hindi maging ang dedikasyon at pananalig sa

MANA POMANA POMANA POMANA PO is an adaptation by Chino Batoctoy under

kolehiyo. Kamakailan, siya din ay sumubok sumulat para sa isang digital film na

PUNTOD (Baby’s Tomb) mula sa direksyon ni Cesar Apolinario. Ang pelikulang ito

ay kasalukuyang nominado bilang Digital Movie Original Screenplay of the Year sa

26th PMPC Star Awards for Movies. Nakapaglakbay na din siya sa iba’t ibang panig

ng San Francisco, California bilang bahagi ng Group Study Exchange Program ng

Rotary Foundation nuong nakaraang taon.

Komunikado ng Polytechnic University of the Philippines kung saan siya ay nasa

ikalawang taon na ng kursong Bachelor in Broadcast Communication. Sa tulong ng

ilang kasamahan sa teatro, naisulat nila ang The Last Geisha Standing. Naging

production manager, assistant stage manager, mananayaw, at aktor sa iba’t ibang

pagtatanghal ng Teatro Komunikado. Si Dhona din ang kasalukyang Assistant

Secretary ng Rotaract Manila Metro.

Rotaract Manila Metro, si Nonoy ay ilang ulit na ding nakasama sa iba’t ibang

outreach activities ng samahan partikular na ang Big Kuya Project. Gumanap na

“Noel” sa “Kailan Sasaya si Noel?” isang stage production ng kanilang paaralan

kung saan sya ay umani ng papuri mula sa mga manunuod. Sa ngayon, si Nonoy ay

naghahanda sa kanyang pagtatapos sa high school sa ika-28 ng Marso.

Nagpaplanong kumuha ng kursong Engineering sa Technological University of the

Philippines o sa Mapua Institute.

kursong Industrial Economics Program sa University of Asia and the Pacific. Siya ay

mahilig sa panitikan. Para sa kanya, ang teatro ay tanghalan ng panitikan -

tangahalan ng repleksyon ng buhay. Habang pinapatay ang sarili upang kumatha

ng isang bagong karakter, lumilikha ng isang bagong katauhang may bagong

mundo; bagong mundong may mga saya at problemang kaiba sa kanya. Binibigyan

niya ng bagong problema ang sarili dahil marahil kaniyang malilimutan na siya nga

rin pala ay mayroong mga suliranin. Sa ganitong paraan nang pagpapakamatay at

muling pagbubuhay, lalong nakikilala ang sarili. Ito ang kanyang kasiyahan.

galing sa pagbibigay saya sa mga tao nakapaligid sa kanya kung kaya’t siya ay

natural na naging paborito ng lahat. Sa kanyang tuluyangtuluyangtuluyangtuluyang paglaki, naging likas ang

pagiging lider at kaibigan sa lahat kaya’t hindi nakapagtatakang siya ay mahalal

kamakailan bilang Kalihim ng College of Education Student Council. Bukod sakamakailan bilang Kalihim ng College of Education Student Council. Bukod sa

Rotaract Manila Metro, siya din ay aktibong myembro ng Mediatrix at Pax Romana,

kolumnista ng Education Journal, Research and Development at nagdirihe ng TheLast Goddess Standing at My Last Night with You. Si Romel ay nasa ikalawang taon

na ng kursong Bachelor of Science in Education major in English sa University of

Santo Tomas.

buhay. Sa kanyang angking galing, si Chino ang naatasang sumulat ng kauna-

unahang produksyon ng Rotaract Manila Metro, ang MANA PO. Siya din ang

nagsisilbing Community Service Director ng grupo sa ikalawang pagkakataon.

Kumukuha ng kursong AB/BS Literature sa Philippine Normal University. Bahagi

din sya bilang apprentice ng Torch Publications ng nasabing pamantasan. Sumulat

at nagdirihe ng dulang “Not so Typical” at kinatawan ng kanilang klase sa Fresh

Face Pageant 2010. Sa kasalukyan, siya ay patuloy na kumekembot sa mga kemeng

dulot ng buhay.

pagiging kasapi ng Varsity Volleyball Team ng kanilang pamantasan, siya din ay

aktibong kasapi ng Rotaract Manila Metro at namuno na sa iba’t ibang proyekto ng

pagiging kasapi ng Varsity Volleyball Team ng kanilang pamantasan, siya din ay

aktibong kasapi ng Rotaract Manila Metro at namuno na sa iba’t ibang proyekto ng

samahan. Maliban sa galing sa isports, taglay din ni Dhen ang galing sa pag-awit.

Hindi lamang mga lolo at lola sa LOLOLA program ng grupo ang kanyang

kinakantahan, naging kalahok din siya sa District Rotaract Solo Singing Contest

nuong taong 2008.

S.I.K.A.P stands for Sa Iyong Kamay Ang Pag-Asa / The Hope is in YourHands. This project is much more than just giving HOPE, instead, this was designedto encourage and empower the youth to be involved in their community and beresponsible for their own future.

Sikap is a Filipino root word for magsikap, meaning to persevere. We wantthe children and youth of GK Alapan to have the determination, the will to pursuetheir dreams, to have a vision and to be fully equipped in reaching their goals. Wewant them to be independent and work on attaining their aspirations withoutdepending too much from donations and help that other peopleare giving them.

Thus, the S.I.K.A.P project was created with the following objectives:

� Provide to them an access to opportunities that would further enhance their skillsknowledge;

� Uphold the well-being and development of marginalized, needy children/youththrough Education;

� Build a community library for the children and the youth of Gawad Kalingalocated in Alapan, Imus Cavite, Philippines;

� Create leaders in the community who will take action when necessary toimprove the lives of their fellow citizens; and eventually,

� Transform their lives by empowering them to become good citizens who areinvolved in their community and responsible for their own future.

The S.I.K.A.P Library is much more than a library filled withbooks and learningmaterials: it will be a complete development center createdto empower and motivatethe children and the youth to be socially responsible memberof their community andthe society as well. For we believe in the adage, “Poverty is not an economic problembut a behavioral one. Slum behavior breeds slum mentality.”
