Parasaurolophus (pah-rah-saw-rol-of-us) ate bushes and trees. They

could be about 10 metres long and weighed about as much as an

elephant. (3.5 tons) They had a big crest on their head, this could

be 1.8 metes long which is as long as a full grown person. Scientists

think they used this to make sounds maybe to attract a mate or to

talk to each other. Their tail was very tall but not that long.

Pterodactyl (terr-uh-dak-tul) was a flying reptile. It was not really a

dinosaur, but a pterosaur (terr-uh-saw). Its name means winged

finger. They were not normally very big and averaged 3.5 feet long.

The biggest was 3.5 metres though, that is the same size as a

elephant! They were carnivores and ate meat, with that long beak

probably small animals and fish.

Stegosaurus (steg-oh-saw-rus) means ‘’roofed lizard.’’ This is because of the bony plates on its back that looked like roof tiles. It

was a big dinosaur and was about 9 metres long and 4 metres tall!

They weighed about the same as a large car. They were not very

clever dinosaurs and had a brain the size of a table tennis ball. They

were herbivores, which means they ate plants and bushes. They

had spikes on their tail to hit dinosaurs that tried to eat them.
