Dear readers,
Thanks to the passion of over 700 volunteers across 18 chapters, the stepup program has grown from the humble beginnings of 3 senior consultants with an idea to a truly impactful Deloitte movement. That exponential growth is a tribute to the powerful DNAof our professionals: Deloitte practitioners want to use their skills to have a positive impact in communities where we live and work.
While that core idea has driven its growth, stepup’s success is equally based on the ability of its practitioner-leaders to mature the organization to create the necessary structure to ensure lasting stability. From creating toolkits for establishing new chapters to scaling common capabilities to sharing best practices to creating succession plans, the operational side of stepup sows the seeds that lets the passion of stepup volunteers blossom
That combination of passion and structure has created a remarkable amount of impact. We have tried to capture that impact in this first stepup Annual Impact Report. I am confident this is only the beginning and our impact will continue to grow because stepup is what I like to say a “win-win-win”:
• It is a win for our people as it creates opportunities to connect and grow personally and professionally through purpose-driven work
• It is a win for our communities as it brings our professionals’ time and intellectual capital to strengthen nonprofits and address pressing needs
• It is a win for Deloitte as it strengthens our community ties and our ability to bring a more inclusive mindset to all aspects of our work
The strong program that stepup is today is a tribute to all the volunteers that have come before and built this amazing program. The impact we are having is a tribute to all our current volunteers. The promise of stepup in the future is up to you and all our future volunteers, leaders, partners and supporters.
To our past and present volunteers and partners. . . THANK YOU!
To our future volunteers and partners. . . WELCOME!
stepup is truly an important way Deloitte is making an impact every day. Thank you.
