Life of a mother is comparatively so easy when kids are going to school, they can at least follow a routine. Send the kids off to school and get down to work. But when the sun is at its peak and schools are off for summer vacations, it completely changes the narrative. Work can wait because kids dont. Keeping kids entertained is one heck of a job, their summer activities often completely blows up the budget. To get kids to cool down during summer season I find myself spending too much on all activities.

This made me acknowledge the utmost necessity of having a firm plan for activities and budget for those activities. So I started acting smartly, I made a list of all the summer activities that traps and another list of all the cheaper alternative activities. Kids get their share of amusement and outdoor activities while I get to save money.

Water ParksWater parks create a hoe in your pockets and slowly drains the money out. 1st you for the admittance fee they you will find yourself paying for other stuff such as food, tubes, lockers and souvenirs. As an occasional fun this wont stir your budget but if it becomes a summer activity it will drain your budget. Although I own a local pass for the park which cover the admittance fee but its the extra activities that costs.

Movies is one place where your kids are so occupies and you have nothing to worry about, there is air conditioning, quiet time and entertainment. There is everything to love about summer movies except the cost. There is ticket cost then popcorns and drinks. The cunning production companies know when to release kids movies, all the blockbusters are scheduled in summer and there is just no quieting the kids about it.

What to do about this? Most local movie theaters offer kids program for summer where they offer to show already released movies for cheaper price. As for popcorn, if you buy separate regulars they will cost you more, purchase a large and share it.2. Movies

3. BowlingOne of the easiest and active way of killing time of an afternoon is through bowling with your bored kids. But then there is lane rent and shoe rent for each kid. All of this accumulates to be quite costly

A more affordable option can be day camps but the registration fee and fee for special occasions can be a pile.

If you are not anti-religion, then many religious institutes offer free or low cost camps too. Or even better host a summer camp at your place.
