1 states clearly that we are about a discussion of
fantasy, Lovecraft and assoolmted areas. Rather than
rejecting Charlest submission entirely and trusting
the Post Office to get my letter to him and another submission of credit—
able material In by the deadline, I 'm accepting two pages of this and as—
signing four (4) pages to complete his minac, by the next deadline. I have
absolutely nothing against personal material In the Order, but the reason
for the apats existence Is clearly stated and the OE should maintain the
apats Identity and Integrety. I think that this compromise Is more than
fair. Minac on the theme of the apa; over that, whatever

Summer schedules seem to have taken their tolls with the
roster: the Order has lost the following members, all due to
their aailure to meet the minac requirement. Jonathan Bacon,
Tommy Bass, John Finkblner and Wally Stoeltlngg Gentlemen j
the waitingllst would be honoured to have you again.... Along
almost the same lines, Don Herron has declined the invitation to join the
Order. This leaves openings In the roster, and allows me to invite
Frank Stauf Cliff Biggers Thomas Reid, and
Walter Coslet Bill Wallace Mark Sprague to member—
ship with Mailing 16, upon reception of their first submission (of six or
more creditable pages) and the amount outstanding on their first year's
dues. Doug Nathman has resigned.
The following people have been dropped from the Waitinglist for failure to
acknowledge the 00 twice in as many mailings :
Jim Dapkus Terry Dale and
Jim ymennedy Mike Fantina.
Welcomes are due Andy Conder for his joining the ranks of Acolytes with this
mailing, after a longish climb up the Waitinglist.

" As aresult Arthur owes his six pages with Mig. 16 and the Order has a rare ex—ample of the OE's discretionary ability; for once there seems to be reasonfor a bit of lattitude.

You are a trusting group; no onecaught the $2.00 error, and I didn'tnotice it until preparing the flguresa few minutes ago.
This may well be a good place to men—tion the fact that there are still two sets of MI g. 14 to be had; also, there are a few sets of MIC. (a yet—to—be—determined number, since Ihold five sets in case a member's copy is eaten by the J?ost Awful). Thesemay be had for the regular amount.
oeLECTION TITTEIt ts almost time to re—elect the Order's Official Editor.Going by the rules, anyone wishing to run for the officeshould make his desire known to me, in writing, on or be—fore 10 October. A teller will be appointed and the
ballots will appear in the Hallowmas mailing (which Is the next one).
Yes (In case anyone asked) I will stand for a second term; I want to get atleast one mailing correct beofre handing over the headache to someone else.
Ben Indlck, in Ibid XV (below) has a fewTHE ANNUAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS pertinent thoughts about the Order's annual
awards and the lack of responce they havereceived in the rzst. He has suggestedthat if there is no true Interest In them
that they should be dropped, If you have thoughts on the subject, pleasethem In your next submission. By the normal schedule the nomination
ballot should appear In the Hallowmas mailing; if the awards aren't seen asbeing necessary, there would be no reason for the ballot.

I t ve converted to a hand—inked mimeograph withoeDITORIAL MUTTERINGS this mlg, and since it's the first time that I t ve
run one the late 50 •s, the printing might be a bit
rough herein; please bear with me, and I '11 have
it by Hallowmas,
Our next deadline, yet again, falls on a Sunday, so the preceedlng day Isthe effective deadline, which is
Saturday, 30 October, 1976
Andy Conder did pay the amount outstanding on his first year's dues, I justforgot to list it. Also, I typoed Vernon Shea r s dues due last time; it has bbeen corrected in the roster.
For the first time In the Order's history 0 1 F m not running the completerules in this 00. I have more than enough copies of them, as printed in the00 for Mlge 14, to supply new waitlisters and interested inquirers, and willrun them in the next 00. Unless there t s strong feelings to the contrary,I t 11 save the time, stencils, paper, postage and effort of running themevery ml g,
I seriously doubt that I t 11 attend the World Fantasy Convention this year,
for qith luck I r 11 be starting a new job not too long before that date, As
a result of my non—attendance, It wont t be possible to hand—deliver sub—
missions to me there, and the next deadline is the same time as the con.
Please remember this when planning your next submission.
Welcome to the new waitlisters. Please rernember to acknowledge the recept—
ion of the 00, so that there will be no danger o? loosing your position on
the Waitinglist. A postcard will do, but a waitinglist submission would beeven better.
That just about concludes the business for the Order
SEALING THE CRYPT for this mailing. With the next mailing the ballot forthe annual OE1ect10n will appears please remember toexercise your voting right/priviledge.
