Welcome/Events Summary

Welcome/Mail

• If you have received any new Mail, it will be indicated by a link in the Events Summary area (directly under your Avatar).

• You can click on the link to go directly to the Incoming mail, or hover your mouse over the Mail option at the top of the page, then click Incoming.



• Items with new activity are displayed as links organized by item type for each active course.

• Clicking on a link takes you directly to the LightningGrader page for Exams and Assignments or the Forum Home page for Forums.



• Clicking on a Forum link takes you directly to the Forum Home page.



• Clicking on a Forum link takes you directly to the Forum Home page.• Click the ENTER THE FORUM >>> link to open the Discussion page.


Welcome/Select Course



• The default display for Instructors shows all sessions (semesters) during which this instructor has taught in WebStudy with links to all courses in each session listed.



• Hovering your mouse over the gray gear icon opens several options for displaying sessions and courses.– Clicking “Show only this session” collapses all other sessions.– Clicking “Hide all sessions older than this session” shows only the current

session, and any sessions with dates newer than the current session.– “Make all sessions visible” returns the list to the default view showing all

sessions and courses the instructor has taught in WebStudy.



• Clicking the “Close all” button collapses all sessions, only showing the session name without links to courses in the session(s) listed.



• Click on the name of the course to open the course FrontPage.


Welcome/Announcements



• Announcements are created by the WebStudy Institutional Administrator at your school and are displayed for all users (Instructors and Students).



• As an Instructor, when you create a new News item in a course, a notice of it will appear in the Students’ Announcement area under the heading “Course news”.

• Only those News items that are new since the student’s last logon will appear when a student logs on.

• Unless the News item requires confirmation on log on, the student will need to click on the News Tab in the course to read it. (News tab must be visible to students for them to access it.)


Welcome/Calendar

• This is the mini-calendar. • If a Due on calendar date (or Takes place on calendar date) has been

entered for Exams, Assignments, Forums, etc. a list of the events that are due during the displayed calendar month will appear to the right of the calendar.



Welcome/Instructor Zone


• The WebStudy Institutional Administrator at your school can add information for Instructors in the left area of the Instructor Zone.

• You will also find a number of useful links at right in this area.
