Magnetic Solution for the Optimization of Power Train Components.Highly precise measurement of valve lift and valve rotation in a fired combustion engine.A typical application example of a robust xMR sensor solution is the valve lift or valve rotation measurement directly in fired combustion engines under real operating conditions. This type of measurement belongs to the most demanding measurement tasks in power train components of combustion engines. Until now the valve behavior was measured by means of simulation or using electrically supported motors, i. e. the measurement was not carried out under real operating conditions.
Our sensor including evaluation unit (VTMS) enables a reliable valve train monitoring. The measurement accuracy is equivalent to that achieved by laser-based measurement systems.

Application Example Speed Sensor
The sensor has been developed for the contactless and precise speed measurement at ferromagnetic toothed wheels with flexibility regarding pitch and air gap.
The unit consists of a sensor head and a remote compact processing unit for signal conditioning. The sensor signals are provided as analog or digital output signals.
Depending on the tooth module and air gap the analog output provides a sine output signal with minimal signal distortion. Optionally the processing unit can be equipped with an UART interface which enables access to further functions.
The sensor head can withstand high operating temperatures and is accommodated in a molded housing. The operation is not affected by dirt or oil.
The teflon-coated connection cables are high- temperature resistant and can be supplied with or without an additional protective sleeve. The connections are designed as “open end” lines by default. We supply the unit with customized plug-in connectors, on request.
