I think that this magazine is aimed at males aged 15 to 30 who are interested in the rap and R&B genre of music. The use of red is a common connotation of this genre of music and is suggests danger. The use of the image with little text around it will appeal to the target audience.

The image is placed over the masthead as this is using star theory meaning that the target audience are more attracted to the image more than what magazine it is. The use of only 3 colours and little text on the front cover means that the image is more eye catching.

This style is consitant with many other front covers belonging to this magazine. This has given me ideas for my own music magazine as I want my magazine to appeal to a similar audience. I will use similar and a small amount of colours through out my magazine with little text on the front cover to help make the image stand out and appeal to my intended target audience.
