Cover:Flag: The flag will always be in (reg-ular) Shorelines Script Bold, 63/75.6. The color will vary de-pending on the issue; however, the color should be a compli-ment of the dominate color on the cover photo.

Deck: The deck will always be cen-tered under the flag in (medi-um) Kohinoor Bangla, 21/25.2 with tracking set at 290. The color of the deck will always be white or black; depending on the cover photo.

Sell Line:There will always be one sell line on the page that corre-sponds to whatever the cover photo of the issue is. The sell line will be a display headline in the same color as the flag. The display headline needs to be in either Gloucester MT Extra, Autumn in November or a combination of both. Gloucester MT Extra font should be in 54 pt font, while Autumn in No-vember should be at most 87 pt. Leading will vary depending on display headline designed; however, it should be tightly disgned.

Page Number: The page number of what is dis-played on the front should be located under the display head-line in (regular) Gloucester MT Extra font, 14/16.8. The color will either be black or white follow-ing whatever the deck is.

Rules for Visual Elements:

• The cover will be filled entirely with a photo. The photo should be featuring something included inside of the issue. The photo will always be set at 80% transparency.

• Cover photos MUST feature a doughnut. Preferably a close-up shot of one featured in the issue.

• Cover photos cannot be too busy or bright

Flag: The flag will always be in (regular) Shorelines Script Bold, 45/54. The color will always be black.

Deck: The deck will always be centered under the flag in (medium) Kohinoor Bangla, 19/22.8 with tracking set at 240. The color of the deck will always be in the color of the sidebar.

Headline:There will always a “Contents:” head-line in (regular) Gloucester MT Extra, 38/12. Tracking set at 140. The color will always be black. The same dough-nut graphic will be used in a different color eacn edition.

Heading: The heading font is (regular) Gouces-ter MT Extra, 16/12. It is always in black and underlined.

Body: The body font is (regular) Gloucester MT Extra, 12/12. It is always in black and situated right underneath the heading.

Page Numbers: The page numbers are in (regular) Shorelines Script Bold, 18/21.6. It is always in black and centered beside the headings and body text.

Folio: The page numbers are in (regular) Shorelines Script Bold, 10/12. Always in black and centered over a trans-parent photo of sprinkles that will be the same for all issues. Odd page folios are located in the bottom right corner of the page. Even page folios are located in the bottom left corener of the page.

Rules for Visual Elements:

1. Sidebar runs two columns from top to bottom. Color can vary from issue, but needs to be pulled from a photo in the side bar.

2-5. Four photos of doughnuts included in the issue need to be in-cluded in the sidebar. They need to be all connected and centered in the sidebar so that part of the color of the sidebar can be shown behind them.

Section Tab: The section tab should be located in the top left corner of odd pages and in the top right of even numbered pages. it should be in (regular) Shorelines Script Bold, 14/16.8. The color should be matched to whatever the image is on the page and to the box around the content.

Month: The month should be located underneath the section tab. It should be in (regular) Gloucester MT Extra, 75/90. It should always be in black and when a colon after it.

Month Number: The month number should be located in the top left corner of the square graphic on the page. It shold be in (regular) Shorelines Script Bold, 77/92.4.

Heading: The heading should be the same every single edition for “Doughnut of the month”. The first three words should be in Gloucester MT Extra, 71/85.2. The word month should be in (regular) Autumn in November font, 66/79.2.

Headline: The headline should be centered in the middle of the square graphic. The type of doughnut should be in (regular) Autumn in November, 53/63.6. Where the doughnut is from should be located underneath the doughnut type aligned to the left. This hsould be in Gloucester MT Ex-tra, 53/63.6. Both of these parts of the headline should always be in black.

Body: The body text should be in (regular) Abadi MT Condensed font, 9/11 in black. The body should consist of what the dougnut is like and if it lives up to expectations. The body should be in a textbox with the following demensions: X- 89p9.6, Y- 44p0.716, W- 15p6, H- 33p6.231. The textframe should be set to one column.

Folio: The page numbers are in (regular) Shorelines Script Bold, 10/12. Always in black and centered over a transparent photo of sprinkles that will be the same for all issues. Rules for Visual Elements:

2. A photo of the doughnut should be fitted onto the the illustra-tion.

3. A square with no fill and an outline with a point size of 10 should be fitted underneath the month and the heading. it should be color-dropped from the illustration the doughnut is located under.

Folio: The page numbers are in (regular) Shorelines Script Bold, 10/12. Al-ways in black and centered over a transparent photo of sprinkles that will be the same for all issues. Odd page folios are located in the bottom right corner of the page. Even page folios are located in the bottom left corener of the page.

Rules for Visual Elements:

1. For the photo on the page, it should be the size of the page. The photo should be a close up shot of the doughnuts featured in the recipe being shown. The background of the photo should be a lighter color.

2. A box the same size the length of the body should be placed underneath it. It should be color-dropped from the background of the photo used on the page. It should have a transparency of 50 percent.

Feature:FEATURES MUST TWO PAGES OR MORE. DESIGNED IN FIVE COLUMN GRID. MUST START ON EVEN PAGE

Section Tab: The section tab for features should be located on the second page. Since features must always start on an even page, the section tab will be in the top left corner of the second page. It should be in (regular) Shorelines Script Bold, 14/16.8. It should be matched to the color of the drop cap.

Headline: The headline should be a display headline. It can vary in font, but it should be in the 40-46 pt. size range.

Byline: Before the introduction paragraph, a byline should be included above where the drop cap is located. It should be in (regu-lar) Abadi MT Condensed, 8/9.6 in black.

Drop Cap: A drop cap should always start the intro-duction paragraph of the feature. It should only be the first letter of the first word. It should be 3 drop cap lines for size. The color should correspond to the rest of the graphics on the page, including the section tab.

Intro: Features must always include an intro-duction paragraph before anything else is included. It must be aligned to the left of the page and must come after the head-line and the byline. Features should be in (regular) Abadi MT Condensed font, 12/14.4 in black. Intro text should be designed to fit two columns.

Body: The body text should be in (regular) Abadi MT Condensed font, 9/11 in black. If there is a list, the titles and/or headings should be in either (regular) Autumn in November (for titles) 12/12 in black or Gloucester MT Extra (for headings underneath titles) 10/12 in black. Body text for features should be four columns.

Folio: The page numbers are in (regular) Shore-lines Script Bold, 10/12. Always in black and centered over a transparent photo of sprinkles that will be the same for all issues. Odd page folios are located in the bottom right corner of the page. Even page folios are located in the bottom left coren-er of the page.

Rules for Visual Elements:

1. The top of the feature should always contain some type of art. It can either be one picture of a doughtnut or a particular shop or a college like in this edition.

2. The headline should always come with some type of graphic behind it. The color used for the graphic should be repeated in the drop cop and section tab, as well as with the sidebars/extra infor-mation.

3. All features should have some suplementary information in-cluded. This can come in the form of a sidebar, etc. It must match the color of the section tab, etc. It should either be located in the bottom or top left corner.

4. Photos hsould be used throughout the entire feature to create a package. Features cannot be full of text; they must include lots of art. The photos must correspond with the content in the feature.

Feature vs. Department: • Features should stand out from the departments of the maga-zine. • Departments include few photos, while features must include many. • Features should use bright, saturated colors, while departments can be more subdued. • Features should be more than two pages. Departments can be one. • Features should include more information than departments-- very thorough.
