MADEOS FOOD CHAIN Madeo’s Food Chain is located in the Greek Sila pre - mountain area of San Demetrio Corone. All the products come from organized system of supply Chain: 1. Firms follow precise technical rules for breeding and production, based on natural foodstuffs. 2. Raw materials are controlled from sources. 3.Every step of the production process is checked and well-documented. The food Chain consists of two herds and three different firms placed in the country: - D.O.P. White Pig breeding - Calabria BLACK PIG breeding - Slaughtering, boning and portioning firm - Salamis production firm - Salted/whole production firm Traceability and trackability are the key words for Madeo’s Food Chain. Through traceability can be found , any time ,every single element of the products. From feeds to spices that flavor the salamis, all the ingredients are carefully made into the Chain, including the renowned Hot Calabrian pepper. The Chain is ISO 9001:2008 and IFS certified (International Food Standard - Higher level). Madeo’s Food Chain production lines are three: 1. Black pig of Calabria cured meats 2. D.O.P. Calabria cured meats 3. Traditional cured meats
