Since antiquity the olive tree has offered excellent benefits: Hippocrates suggested to apply macerated olives to heal skin imperfections and back in the antique Rome massages with olive oil were considered a “bath of youth.”

On a dermal level the chemical composition of olive oil makes it amongst all vegetable oils the most similar to the lipid layer of the skin thanks to its optimal ratio between saturated and unsaturated fatty acids.
