Mactech’s business has been founded on the delivery of quality and inspection services since 1986. Weare owned and managed by professional engineers and quality managers, all from the energy andconstruction sectors. To this end, health, safety, environment and quality are at the core of our businessobjectives, operational management system and working culture throughout the business. Whether weare operating on an offshore lay-barge in Russia, or in our head office in the UK, Mactech understands weare responsible for managing HSEQ as far as our remit and control extends.

Given we are a service company and operate a number of different contracting relationships, Mactechfaces many challenges to ensure we have design, input and influence, particularly on our overseasconstruction sites and clients. Since the year 2000, Mactech has developed, through ISO9001 and DNVHSE, a comprehensive management system that reflects these different operational environments inwhich we operate and work hand-in-hand with clients to ensure highest levels of Health & Safetyawareness and minimal environmental impact at all times.

We are aware that some of the site conditions that our personnel will experience are not a controlledenvironment and we cannot exercise ultimate control over day-to-day activities on a client’s site. We willalways establish that recognised and acceptable Health & Safety regulations and standards are in placeand monitor that they are being implemented.

Our aim is to train, educate and provide sufficient information so that our employees will be able to makea fair and informed assessment of the inherent risks on different work sites. They will act accordingly withdue care and consideration with suitable safety equipment. Where they perceive an unacceptable risk intheir working environment they will receive management support to avoid or where feasible, reduce suchrisks to an acceptable level. We are realistic enough to appreciate that in our work sector there are riskswhich are unavoidable but we seriously believe that these can be reduced to minimum levels with positiveattitudes from field operatives and management; with a client’s co-operation..
