About MachMotion

MachMotion is a control solutions provider.> Free, lifetime, remote login control support> One stop for a total solution and on-going support> Made in the USA

History 2001 – Started building custom rim lathe control 2006 – Started selling CNC mill control 2012 – New manufacturing facility Present – 1500 controls & 5000 servo axes in the field,

25-30 team members

Custom Controls

The best of CNC and Industrial Automation> Multiple options for motion data

• 3D model drawing to motion• DXF/DWG 2D shape to motion• Canned wizards (input data) to motion• CSV/XML cut files

> Custom HMI screen design> Custom integrations

• Camera feed• Probe• Digital/Analog I/O

> Following are two case studies3D model drawing to motion

Custom Application – Beam Punch

Project Overview:Linear Punch machine with a left and right punch. Using the user generated .dxf, position the material and activate the punches to the proper coordinates.

Customer Need:• Import DXF of part with punched holes defined• Post machine code• Run part

MachMotion Solution:We wrote a simple post processor for SheetCam to find the center of the punch holes and command the positioner to that coordinate.

Using one of our default User Interfaces we were able to give the customer a wonderful interface for a custom project with an off the shelf system with minimal setup or configuration.

From DXF:

To machine code:

Custom Application – Wood RouterProject Overview:This Customer was using a third party engineering software to calculate floor joist layouts and cut data. This information was being exported as a job file in XML format. We were asked to interpret this data for each job sent to the machine and command the machine positioning and printer. We built an interface to allow the user to visualize each job and load and select individual boards.

Customer Need:• Seamless transition from current system to new control• Minimal machine down time for retrofit• Fully featured yet Intuitive user interface• Optimize process to save time

MachMotion Solution:• By integrating to the existing distributed IO devices and using the installed motors and

drives we were able to minimize the machine down time and put the first two machines back in production each in 4 days.

• We built an interpreter for the XML job files from the engineering software for the board data and seamlessly interfaced to all the auxiliary devices.

• Sent the label data to the printer and coordinated printing with the motion of the board

• Created the cut list for the saw• Created the motion profile for the router
