catalog and see more.

Art is subjective, fascinating, and driven by passion. It is a

powerful form of expression for the artists who create it and

for the collectors who use it to express their individuality,

beliefs, feelings, hopes, convictions and philosophies. Art

encourages people to ask questions, introspect, explore

new ideas, experience fresh new perspectives and most

importantly it personalizes and humanizes our individual

surroundings. It is the most celebrated element of any

spectacular interior setting—homes as well as businesses—

and can transform these spaces into unique, beautiful and

engaging environments.

Let us show you how fine art can inspire your passion and

enhance the space where you live and work. Our MAC Art

Gallery houses an extensive collection of artwork from over

60 international artists in a 12,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space.

For over 19 years, MAC Fine Art has provided artwork to

private collectors, art dealers, galleries, designers, architects

and consultants worldwide.

RENÉ ROMERO SCHULER

United States

René Romero Schuler is one of the most

important and well-collected contemporary

artists to emerge out of the Midwest in the

last decade. The Chicago-based artist creates

powerful paintings and sculptures that convey

strength, vulnerability and a holistic view of

beauty. Romero Schuler’s oeuvre has garnered

attention from gallerists, notable collectors,

museums and the media alike, both on a local

and international scale.

René Romero Schuler strives to portray the imperfection, stress, and underlying beauty in her figures.

HERNÁN SOSA

Peru

The work of Hernán Sosa is the result of an

authentic passion for painting. In an extremely

synthesized method, Sosa mixes the discipline

of an old master with the uninhibited sensibility

of a modernist; layering oil and acrylic painting,

scratching through surfaces to create not

only a visual symphony but a compelling

contemporary narrative. His latest series of

paintings of archetypal swimmers are the

consummate embodiment of both talent and

vision. It is no wonder these works are highly

sought after by collectors world wide.

Lose yourself in the bold, textural, and

unexpectedly familiar works of Hernán Sosa.

WALTER REDONDO

United States

“My paintings are fueled by the expression

of things that come to me through life’s

unseen experiences. Every placement of

color, or covering of another color, affects

and shapes the painting. I love the process of

squeezing paint from the tubes, mixing them

together and watching the colors evolve and

complement each other. The mixing of color

while the oil is still wet on the canvas, the

unfolding of the imagery, represents a singular

journey for me. What is in the process, what

has gone into the mixing, is the very essence of

how life and choices create the person.”

Redondo's bold and textural paintings.

DREW ETIENNE

United States

“There is something equally intriguing and

frustrating about peering into spaces that

you cannot physically reach. It triggers

our innate human desire for exploration, I

inevitably use my paintings to explore my own

fascinations with, and fears of, our exponential

advancement of technology, our submersion

in digital realms, the changing landscape of

the physical world around us, and our tenuous

understanding of our relationship with the

cosmos at large.”

Peer into geometric illusions and discover a new world to explore.

An artist's workshop, where ideas are executed and imagination takes form.

CHRISTIN PAIGE MINNOTTE

United States

Christin Paige Minnotte is a fine art, conceptual

fashion, and portrait photographer. Her work

is made with the intent to create a new space

where form meets abstraction and the literal or

material meets the aspirational or spiritual. The

subjects in her work have a way of giving form

to the ethereal, elusive or otherworldly while

simultaneously elevating the commonplace to

the soulful.

GUDRUN NEWMAN

Iceland

Gudrun Newman is one of the most successful

contemporary artists to emerge out of Iceland

in recent years. Gudrun started to draw

figures and create art at a very young age.

She studied with noted Icelandic artists Louisa

Matthiasdottir and Hringur Johannesson.

She was also influenced by many of Iceland’s

prominent visual artists, including ERRO and

Johannes S. Kjarval, and credits other European

masters such as Wolf Kahn and Kandinsky as

major forces in her artistic development.

MAXIM LIPZER

Argentina

In the tradition of the greatest artistic minds

of this century, Maxim has set out to discover

his own world. His paintings are expressions

of what he finds along that exploration. Maxim

believes that the meaning of an artwork speaks

to the artist first then conveys itself to the

viewer. However, his concern is not in telling

a story as he insists that the feelings and

emotion that exist behind and motivate his

work have more significance for him than the

subject of each painting.

The Landscape isn’t dead. The unspoken assumption of the

contemporary art world is that landscape is old-fashioned, a

dusty souvenir of the 19th century artists. Today we see an

abstract shift in classic landscape to what art academics refer to

as “landscape referential” artwork. In these works, artists either

modernize the imagery or totally abandon it using only the

natural concepts, forms or colors as a sort of jumping off point

through which they can create wholly non-objective works.

35

MIKI GUTIERREZ

Mexico

The work of Mexican artist, Miki Gutiérrez,

comes from free creation. He is constantly

experimenting with materials, testing their

ideas and concepts of form. Early on Miki was

influenced by such great sculptors as Henry

Moore, Eduardo Chillida and some elements

of Pedro Coronel, but gradually found his own

voice. Working with clay to produce models

before casting them in bronze, Gutiérrez'

sculptures play with the boundaries of space,

volume and movement in reference to the life’s

universal cyclicality. In polished, smooth lines

and basic circular shapes, his sculpture speaks

to the point of harmony and expresses a visible

sense of rhythm and unity of composition.

Its form is reminiscent of the complementary

interconnectedness of the yin-yang, forming a

dynamic system of duality and interaction.

VERON ENNIS

United States

Veron Ennis is a Florida-based modern abstract painter and sculptor, born just outside of

Washington D.C. Her work addresses control in a chaotic world. Creating a balanced composition

full of unique, energized tension, each painting is arresting and engaging. Her technique marries

precision painting and drawing with improvised and spontaneous applications of paint. She employs

sophisticated use of dramatic color and geometry in her compositions and takes it to the next

level with her three-dimensional cube sculptures. Part of Ennis’ technique depends on the chance

application of her medium. “Falling in and out of control of the work energizes the composition and

pushes compositional boundaries,” says Ennis.

ALEX KVETON Czech Republic

Alex Kveton’s intricate and curvaceous stainless

steel and bronze sculptures are recognized

for their uniqueness, exquisite execution and

high level quality. His flowing metal sculptures

combine both tension and harmony in a poetic

statement. As a young adult, Alex Kveton

enrolled in the Technical School of Machinery

Construction, and later followed his inner

calling into the very selective and prestigious

Prague Academy of Art Architecture and

Design, where he earned his Master's Degree

in Sculpture and Industrial Design. For over

thirty years, Alex Kveton has applied his

knowledge, expertise, and talent to transform

his vision into reality. Alex has created fine

metal sculptures shown in numerous group

and solo exhibitions and many can be found

in prestigious collections in North America,

Europe and Russia.

BOLD FIGURESIn this highly personal art, these artists explore

perceptions of human nature, identity, and gender issues

in the postmodern era. Depictions of figures in varying

degrees of robustness and isolation tell universal stories

of painful pasts and hopeful futures. The haunting, yet

appealing images of the figurative pieces reflect the

power and vulnerability of the complex human condition.

CHRISTOPHER JEFFERIES

glass schools and artists of the highest caliber. He

credits his apprenticeship in the Czech Republic with

master glassblower Igor Muller, for acquiring the fine

techniques and designs that inspire his creations

and career. His diversity of experiences and skill also

earned him the recognition of Dale Chihuly, where

he was offered an apprenticeship at the prestigious

Boat House in Seattle, Washington.

These artists work in a fiery medium known for its fragility, luster and elegance.

53

RICK EGGERT United States

Rick Eggert was born in Southampton, New York in 1974. He spent his

early childhood in New York, then later moved to Vermont, where he

began working in glass. His quest for inner growth has led him to Tahiti,

Moorea, New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand.

SARA CONCA

United States

Sara Conca is an ‘Abstract Expressionist’

from Florida. Her work is an interesting

combination of reverse painting on plexiglass

and oil on canvas. At first look Conca’s work is

a wonderful coloration set in specific palettes

of color, but a second glance reveals deeper

mythical forms and underwater seascapes

reveal themselves. What makes her work ‘Art’

is that she creates works that beg to be seen

many times, for the viewer has the expectation

of gaining new experiences with each viewing.

Her new work is inspired by her Florida roots,

as she has created a fresh new aquatic mystical

series using natural mixed media such as raw

silver dust, 18k gold leafing, ground pigment,

mica flakes and natural crystals.

Brenda Heim's otherworldly artwork is influenced by Zen ink painting.

BRENDA HEIM United States

Brenda Heim’s paintings and sculptures follow

a long line of freethinking artists that include

the New York School Action Painters and the

Color Field Painters of the 1950s. By borrowing

the Action Painters affinity for spontaneous and

unorthodox paint application, with the Color

Field Painter’s emphasis on one’s emotional

state of mind as expressed through color, Heim

has amassed her very own body of work that

is flavored with an enchanting absence of the

known world.

“Art has the ability to give something back

beyond wealth, fame or critical acclaim. The joy

in art making comes when one’s mind, body and

spirit are relaxed and set free from the barriers

of Western, Euro-centric intellectual protocol.

My experience with Zen brush painting, coupled

with emotional release techniques has brought

me over thirty years of constantly renewing and

revitalizing life-sustaining vigor in the studio.”

Phillip Lynam creates vivid pieces by layering marks and pattern to create space behind the surface.

“I am interested in exploring the potential for a painting to create an

immersive, dislocating experience. My favorite moments with a painting

are when I realize that I have slowed down, that I am blocking out the rest

of the room, and that I am not just looking at the painting, but looking into

it.” Phillip’s work is characterized by vivid, glowing color, a sense of internal

illumination and complex layering of marks, patterns, and fragments of

images that allude to space behind the surface of the paintings.

ELENA BOND

Russia

A few decades ago, a gifted young artist, a shy

girl who would grow up to become Elena Bond,

was ushered into the famed “Monet Room”

in the Hermitage Museum. This Impressionist

space on the second floor of the former

palace, once a gathering place for Russian

courtiers, was now a gallery for art. The walls

were adorned with a suite of eight paintings

by Claude Monet. The aspiring young Russian

artist stood before these brilliantly colored

canvases, so full of light and joy and unabashed

beauty, and she was transformed and inspired

by the free and fleeting brushwork of Monet. In

these eight paintings were all the ingredients

for her future work. To this day she remembers

vividly the sense of ownership, connection, and

chemistry she felt towards Impressionism.

PIER TOFFOLETTI

Italy

Pier was born in 1957 in the province of Udine

(Italy). His passion for art was obvious from a

very early age, and his family quickly realized

he had inherited his grandfather’s artistic

talent. When he was 12, the gift from an aunt

of two books on Michelangelo and Cézanne

stimulated him to try and copy the illustrations.

Instead of buying the things that attracted

other boys his own age, as soon as he had a

little money, Pier headed for the general store

in nearby Cividale to stock up on painting

requisites. Even today, Pier can smell the spices

and oils every time he remembers the shop.
