Maatouk throughout the yearsIn 1960 Mahmoud Maatouk, a pioneering co�ee enthusiast, inaugurated the �rst Maatouk Maison du Café in Azarieh, downtown Beirut. The café specialized in freshly roasted premium co�ee with uniquely distin-guished blends.

The co�ee house became widely acclaimed for its outstanding brew and Maatouk proceeded to open up a restaurant, a pastry shop and a sweet shop to complement the Maison du Café.

A mere 15 years later the business moved to the United Kingdom where Mahmoud Maatouk continued his passion by founding the �rst Lebanese co�ee factory in Hayes, Middlesex.

In 1985 the family re-established the co�ee factory in Lebanon before leaving for Dusseldorf, Germany in 1987 to continue growing the co�ee empire.

The Maatouk family permanently returned to Lebanon in 1990 and plugged in all their e�orts in to reviving their co�ee brand. Once the brand had grown in stature, Mahmoud’s daughter Samera expanded the brand’s operation in the UAE by opening a branch of Maatouk Maison du Café in Abu Dhabi.

Samera and her brother Jawad took over the business empire after the passing of Mahmoud Maatouk in 1996 and have since expanded the production facilities to state-of-the-art factories in Bechamoun, Lebanon and Abu Dhabi, UAE.

50 years since it’s inception, the company is still commited to its vision, of playing a leading role in the hot beverages sector by providing premium co�ee blends that people love drinking. Staying true to this vision while still keeping up to date with the latest industry technology has allowed the company to grow into a recognizable international brand.

Maatouk Factories are more than coffee producers; they’re coffee crafters. For more than half a century they have traced selective premium quality of coffee beans from around the world, and perfected the roasting and blending techniques to create the exclusive Maatouk blend. It’s a blend that is uniquely distinguished by its aroma and flavour offering the finest cups of coffee to the most avid of coffee connoisseurs. At Maatouk Factories, coffee is harvested directly from the exotic coffee crops from around the globe because only the finest beans can provide the most aromatic and delicious coffee experience. Once roasted to perfection and ground it goes instantly to fresh preserving packaging, using “bi-Nitrogen inert” and the one way degassing valve which is the most advanced packaging technology, to retain the rich aroma and taste ensuring its authenticity and unique flavor until it is opened.

Raw material - from theground to your cup

The production plant is well equipped with the latest technology that adheres to strict quality control standards. The entire production process, from green beans to sealed pack, are fully automated in a closed system that is protected from environmental or physical hazards thus ensuring consistency of the products’ content and specifications at all times.

Once selected from the best lands in the world, the beans are imported via trusted and controlled transportation systems directly to Maatouk Factories’ purposely built warehouses, keeping it under high quality assured environmental standards.

Cup tasting is an integral phase of the quality assurance process. Each production batch undergoes tight tests in the laboratory by highly trained experts to ensure it meets the pre-set high standards of quality, taste and aroma.
