‘The MA helped me gain my own technical and artistic skills so I could approach challenges
with confi dence, as well as defi ne myself as a fi lmmaker. I
recently participated in a comedy web series as cinematographer and editor. It was an extremely fun project and I wouldn’t have
had the confi dence to do it without the MA.’

Excellent industry linksWe have very strong links with the fi lm and TV industry, including Warner Bros., Elstree Studios, the BBC, the BFI, Avid and Zeiss. This opens up exciting collaboration and career opportunities for our students in special effects, visual effects, animation, model making, music composition and sound design.
In fact, Hertfordshire itself is a great destination for fi lm and TV. The industry is thriving in the UK and our region is playing a key role. It’s home to both Elstree and Warner Bros. studios, where Star Wars, the Harry Potter fi lms and Big Brother were fi lmed – all with University of Hertfordshire students on their crews.
Our end-of-year postgraduate show also includes a fi lm gala with awards sponsored by leading companies including Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, the BBC and Zeiss.
