Jeff Steinhart graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR now Missouri SampT) receiving a BS in Engineering Management in 1979 followed later by an MBA degree from Southern Illinois University in 1982 Jeff received a Professional Degree in Engineering Management from UMR in 2003

After graduating with his BS degree in Engineering Management Jeff began his career with General Motors - Chevrolet in Detroit Michigan before becoming a cost engineer for Monsanto Company in St Louis In 1982 Jeff began his career with Anheuser-Busch Companies in the estimating group During his 26 years with Anheuser-Busch Jeff reached the rank of Vice President of Engineering and Environmental Affairs in 2002 Jeff retired from Anheuser-Busch shortly after InBev acquired the company in 2008

During his tenure with Anheuser-Busch Jeff had a number of key positions in the companys Corporate Engineering Department and was involved in the development and installation of new and existing technologies Jeffs responsibilities included managing the Engineering and Environmental Department for the companys domestic and international beer operations as well as managing major capital projects for its subsidiaries such as Busch Agriculture and the Packaging Group among others

Jeff was a member of the Anheuser-Busch Management Committee the AnheusershyBusch Board of Directors the Anheuser-Busch Packaging Group Board of Directors and the Environmental Health amp Safety Policy Committee While Vice President of Engineering the engineering group was responsible for over $600M in annual capital spending including capital projects for domestic and international beer operations as

well as other company subsidiaries

While Jeffs educational and career achievements have been impressive even more inspiring and notable is how he has continued to give back to both Missouri SampT and his community In 2006 Jeff was inducted into the Academy of Engineering Management and has been an active member since joining the Academy acting as its Vice President during the 20 I 1-2012 academic year and most recently being nominated for Academy President for the 2012-2013 academic year (the membership had not yet voted but Jeff is their sole nominee) As a member of the Academy Jeff has been instrumental in helping the EMSE department form its strategic goals participate in Vision 2020 raise the visibility of the department and secure funds for student scholarships and the Bernie Sarchet Endowed Professorship

Jeff is a current member of the Missouri SampT Board of Trustees and acted as its President in 2008 In this role Jeff has helped mentor other campus departments with strategic planning and the Vision 2020 process as well as advise campus leaders on the direction of the Missouri SampT campus

In 2008 Jeff was involved in helping secure a $1 million gift from the AnheusershyBusch Foundation to support the renovation of the student recreation center at Missouri SampT This same year Jeff was an Honorary St Pats Knight and rode down Pine Street with the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales during the annual St Pats Parade Jeff is a member of the EMSE department mentoring committee acting as a student mentor for undergraduate and graduate Engineering Management students

Jeff is a member of the Beta Eta chapter of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and has been instrumental in helping the young men of TKE find a new place to reside given that their current fraternity house is being relocated to make way for the new Chemical Engineering building that is being built in the current location of the TKE house

In summary while Jeffs educational and career accomplishments have been impressive one would be hard pressed to find another fonner graduate that has been more committed to helping move forward the mission of Missouri Samp T and the department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering more than Jeff Steinhart whether this involves developing department and campus strategic plans securing scholarships and endowed professorships mentoring students or helping students find a safe and secure place to study and live on-campus As a result of his experience and through his actions and example Jeff continues to make both the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering and Missouri SampT a better place for its students faculty and staff
