Time for new faces, nomination month. Most all know my

P.R. home is up for sale, so I will not be seeking office. It’s

been a pleasant stint thanks to being surrounded by

competent staff and fellow officers. Don`t be afraid to stand

up for your club, as help is always there. Many hands make

for light work.

The snowbirds are starting to trickle south and will be

missed at the field and meetings. Don`t forget to vote and

renew your memberships, both club and AMA. They are

due in December. Much of the monies go to field

improvements, club raffles and fun fly goodies. Speaking of

which, there`s only one fun fly left. The club fun fly

championship is in a virtual 3-way tie. The outcome will be

determined at the final event. Wonder what Jed`s going to

come up with? Take advantage of any good flying weather,

cause the days grow shorter, and indoor flying is like kissing

THE ANSWER TO SEPTEMBER’S ‘NAME THAT PLANE’

The name of the plane is the Helio Courier . Larry Bochenko

was the only person to guess it correctly and will get a free

raffle ticket at the October meeting.

In the late 1940’s, this aircraft corporation’s first aircraft design

became America’s first original short take-off and landing design.

The aircraft could take-off & land within 500 ft while clearing a 50

ft barrier. Its controls were effective at speeds as low as 28 mph.

OCTOBER’S ‘NAME THAT PLANE’

In the early 1900’s, this 14 cylinder rotary engine aircraft was designed as a racer and had a top speed of 127

mph. Although in many ways an advanced design for lateral control it used wing warping instead of ailerons.

Send all responses to Bradford Walters at [email protected].

OCTOBER IS CLUB OFFICER NOMINATION MONTH

All Blue Max members, just a reminder that during our October meeting we will be presenting nominations

for club officers. The positions that are up for nomination are President, Vice President, and the four Board

of Directors positions. You must be there to nominate and to be nominated per the club by-laws. Please

seriously consider if you would like to run for any of the positions or if there is someone you would like to see

nominated for one of these offices.

During November, we will be able to vote on-line. There will also be paper ballots at the November meeting.

This is an important part of being a club member.
