tu an automobile nccltlent near Rochester, June 28, 1922.

Mr. Nolan's ability and leadership were recognl•ed by the Board of Visitors ns soon as he was first appointed (February 6: 1918), and be was in1medfately elected president-, ser\•lng eonttnuont51Y as our chief executive up to the lime of bis death. During all these years, Senator Nolan gave bis time and energies without stint and without remuneration to the humani­tarian Interests or the �tate's custo<llat wards. The gl'eat ettetency ot bis work and the good he aeco1u1>1h;hcd ts generally knov.·n and acknowle<lged, but only fully appreciated liy those with whom he was closely associated In his devoted endeavors.

Following his death, the sentiments of the Boaril of Visitors were expressed In the ncloptlon of the ronowlng resolutions:
