Students on Adult Graduation Program Students who are on an Adult Dogwood graduation must have an Adult Graduation Plan in place as per BC Ministry of Education Requirements (click here), and signed off by their Counsellor and Administration by May 22, 2020. Students currently in an Adult Graduation Program must be in good standing for their coursework.

Students on Youth Train in Trades, Trades Sampler, or Youth Work in Trades Students who are away for a semester or more taking a Trades Careers Program must ensure they are in communication with their Counsellor regarding their progress and academic standing. For students whose programs extend into the summer, interim marks will be provided to Mr. Brent Firkser, Trades Training Coordinator & Innovative Learning Services District Teacher no later than May 22, 2020. Should a student be on probation (ie./ not meeting minimum 70% course requirements), then a plan will be put in place with Selkirk College, Mr. Firkser, and the student’s LV Rogers Counsellor.

Part-Time and/or Off-Campus Students It is the responsibility of part-time or off-campus students to communicate with their Counsellor and/or Administration regarding their coursework and intentions for attending the Cap and Gown Ceremony that takes place June 12, 2020.

Students must have current contact information provided to the school. Contact Secretary Jules

Shalman ([email protected]) to update your email, phone, and address.

The same policy applies for graduation as above regardless of whether students are part-time or in an off-campus program.

Eligibility for Cap and Gown Students must be in attendance at LV Rogers for a minimum of one course in the year of eligibility for Graduation in order to participate in the Cap and Gown Ceremony. Students graduating early will participate in the Cap and Gown Ceremony of their Graduation Year and cannot defer Graduation to the following year. Please note that Saturday Graduation Events (Grand March, Cavalcade, Prom) are the responsibility of the Parent Grad Committee, and not the school.

Students can be removed from the Cap and Gown Ceremony graduation list at ANY time prior to the Cap and Gown Ceremony if any of the above conditions have not been met, or if the student has significant disciplinary issues resulting in suspension. Any grade 12 removed from the Cap and Gown

list, after the graduation fees have been paid will lose a portion of his/her payment (that goes toward the Cap and Gown Ceremony), unless a request for financial assistance had been made in advance to the Principal. Questions can be directed to Principal Tamara Malloff ([email protected]).
