Introduction• LUNG CANCER ARISES WHEN A SERIES OF MUTATIONS IN

NORMAL LUNG CELLS CAUSE THEM TO BECOME ABNORMAL AND GROW OUT OF CONTROL. LUNG CANCER IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF CANCER DEATH IN MEN AND IT’S SECOND LEADING IN WOMEN.

• TOBACCO USE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALMOST 90% OF LUNG CANCER CASES. THOSE WHO NEVER SMOKE OR QUIT LONG TIME AGO MAY DEVELOP IT AS WELL.

• In 1968 to 1972 there has been observed a rate of lung cancer on males in south central Los Angeles.

• In southcentral Los Angeles there air sampling has indicated an excess of certain polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons.

Rate•About 200,000 people have lung cancer each year.

•About 160,000 die of lung cancer annual.

•Survival rate average is about five years. this rate has been for decades.

Symptoms:

Lung Cancer sometimes doesn’t have symptoms until it had spread. Its because there is a little bit of specialize nerves.

•Coughing

•Blood in sputum

•Wheezing

•Pain in the chest

•Fatigue

•Pneumonia

• Air pollution is one of the reasons why you get lung cancer.

• Also secondhand smoke!

Second hand smoke is like smoke out of the cigarette, pipe or cigar. The smoke could stay in the air long after the cigarette has been put away and a second hand smoker could inhale it and still lead you to lung cancer.

Stages:This are four different stages of lung cancer:

•Stage 1: the cancer is confined to the lung

•Stage 2 and 3: the cancer is confined to the lung to the other parts of the body.

•Stage 4: Cancer has spread outside of the lung to other parts of the body.

Also did you know that women who get lung cancer is from all chemicals they use at home to clean?

17% of women in the United States smoke and the percent of women dying of lung cancer has increased.

• Smoking not only gives you lung cancer but also affects your teeth by making them yellow or fall out and your lips get all dried up.

• This are two human lungs but the difference is that the one on the right is a smoker lung, and the one on the left is a non smoker lung.

Summary• Lung cancer is one of the most common

cancer why humans die.

• Second hand smoke is one of the reasons why non-smokers get lung cancer.

• You could be one of them secondhand smoker who don’t even know what can happen when being a secondhand smoker. For example you can get lung cancer and you’ll be surprise.
