Luke 9:23-25 23 Then He said to them all, "If anyone

desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

25 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?

INSTRUMENT OF DEATH Follow where HE goes What if I die? The cross does not mean – comfort,

pretty, decoration, ornament, jewlery The cross means – death, execution We must be willing - -

To serve To suffer

INSTRUMENT OF DEATH “Christ says, 'Give me all. I don't want so

much of your work – I want you. I have not come to torment your natural self, but to kill it. No half-measures are any good. I don't want to cut off a branch here and there; I want to have the whole tree down. I don't want to drill a tooth, or crown it, but have it out. Hand over the whole natural self instead. In fact I will give you Myself, My own will shall become yours.'” C. S. Lewis
