Portfolio of works
Artist Statement
My artistic practice involves sculpture, performance, and activation. The concept of my work focuses
on the dialectical relationships between construction and destruction within the same logic of
operation in the construction processes.
Through my sculptures I also draw similarities between body and architecture to achieve a
communion of these two elements to understand how the space interacts with them. I work with
ambivalent construction materials such as iron, steel and wood that allow me to test them in terms of
strength and ductility, softness and hardness to yield to the maximum of their resistance in order to
show the scope of a transformation that may lead to a new representation of the material itself.
To give account of this transformation I create unsettling participatory site-specific sculptures that can
be walked through and used by the public in order to relate to them physically.
My participatory sculptures blend form and function with the purpose of generating mechanisms that
can be activated by the viewer and in which a relationship can be established between them.
